I can understand both sides here, OpenAI needed to find a business model that would bring them the funds they needed, but they did end up turning over their initial reason to be.
What I'm wondering is going for-profit is one thing, but why did they have to go closed-source? Maybe it has to do with who came to save them? "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish".

Ah thats an interesting topic, honestly I think Musk isn't lying about the dangers (even if his saying it for his own benefit), I have crossed feelings with this topic, on the bad side I worry that Artificial Inteligence is going to slowly replace human talent, on the good side I find Chat-GPT very handy too search for information as a browser and also, I've been seeing that games are looking into including IA into them, so NPC could become completely interactive :O
