It’s hard to find such simple wisdom these days. Thank you maestro! 🙏🏻

Well said 👏
Image creators need a media which can easily support and Archive their work into
The future in the same way Film has done and is still doing.

The logic of capture should equal exhibition is flawed. The capture is specifically higher to allow for image adjustment in post then exported as the final version which does not need the depth to display the same quality because there’s no additional adjustment required.

Is the title misspelled? IMDB says “Vittorio”, with an “i”.

I did not understand what he means exactly with preserving and transfering the digital film. Otherwise it is interesting to hear and learn from wise people.

He does make a good point about there not being a sufficient and proven ways to archive digitally shot films, which I would say is the biggest issue right now and an inherent reason as to why film is the more useful format to use in the long run.

for sure he's an amazing cinematographer but why he is avoiding large format capture and comparing just the digital neg with the digital projection and not speaking about the 14 bit plus of large format projection this is something the industry should put their effort in because 70MM projection even from a digital negative could produce fantastic images like they've proved it with 70MM prints of Alfonso Cuaron's Roma.
