I thought the explanation was Ores just received Luffy's shadow. So it will act like Luffy. As time goes on, it will be less and less like Luffy and more like Ores. Also, the body needs to move like its shadow, which is why it can stretch. Ores was not able to stretch until Moria helped him. So Moria can make anyone stretch and morph but cannot duplicate other DF abilities.

Upon reading the ancient Ryugu Poneglyph in Sea Forest, Nico Robin ponders about its meaning, noting it could be a letter of apology to the Fishmen. It was also revealed that Gol D. Roger, the former Pirate King, wished he could have lived in the same era as Joy Boy upon learning the true history of the world at Laugh Tale. Both of these pieces of information lead fans to believe that Joy Boy was a prominent figure in the annals of history, despite the fact that confirmation of his existence has been continually suppressed by the Gorosei and World Government. Also noteworthy, is the idea that “Joy Boy” is not a person, but rather a mantle worn by whoever is attempting to liberate the world from oppression. This idea is further supported by King believing Kaido could be a Joy Boy-like figure, and Kaido losing the belief that Luffy could be Joy Boy.



In chapter 1044, this theory was proven correct, as Zunesha announces that he can hear the “Drums of Liberation” once more, and proclaims Joy Boy has returned. These drums happen to coincide with Luffy’s heartbeat, and his Devil Fruit Awakening. Additionally, the chapter switches over to Gorosei’s perspective where it’s revealed that Luffy’s Devil Fruit is not the Gomu Gomu no Mi, but is actually a Mythical Zoan, the Hito Hito no Mi: Model Nika. The warrior who possesses Nika’s power is said to grant the user’s body unparalleled freedom, only being constrained by their imagination. Furthermore, this description coincides with the themes of the freedom woven throughout One Piece, as one of the Gorosei mentions that by putting smiles on the faces of those around him, the one who possesses the Hito Hito no Mi: Model Nika is “the embodiment of the warrior of liberation.”

All of this information comes together to reveal two very important aspects of One Piece’s lore. Firstly,  Luffy is not the reincarnation of  Joy Boy, but rather it seems as if “Joy Boy” truly is just a title given to whoever holds the power to liberate the world. Secondly, that the Joy Boy of the past did indeed have the powers of the Hito Hito no Mi: Model Nika, as Zunesha, a centuries-old being associates the Awakening of this Devil Fruit with his long lost comrade’s presence.

The reveal of Joy Boy’s true nature is one that falls in line with One Piece’s established narrative perfectly. Though some fans appeared worried that Luffy would turn out to be the reincarnation of Joyboy, this has turned out not to be the case. The use of the ancient Joy Boy’s existence only serves to amplify the themes of inherited will, as over 900 years later his will is still being carried on through Luffy and the Hito Hito no Mi itself. Though this massive reveal may have shaken the world of One Piece, there is still much to learn about the ancient Joyboy’s past and his connection to the World Government which has hunted his Devil Fruit for centuries.

Based on the Oars is Joyboy theory, I'm wondering if Joyboy turned all of the ancient giants into humans and their descendents are the ones with the D initial. The Nika fruit is only limited by imagination and it's a human human fruit so I'm sure it could turn giants into humans.

I mean... Luffy's catchphrase is: "The pirate king... will be me!", which is translated from "Kaizoku ou ni, ore wa naru"
Which is a *space* off from being "Kaizoku oni, ore wa naru" ; "The pirate ogre, will be me!"
Meaning, Luffy has been gunning for Roger's *AND* Joyboy's place from *day one*.

the Large Strawhat in Marijois was Joy Boys hat. Joyboy was a Giant/Titan. which explains the Giant Boat in Fishman island. This also explains why elbaf holds significant importance to many who wants to know the past. It's joyboys former home.

In regards to the possible great flood, how many structures have we seen in the OP world that exist now underwater? We just saw in Wano that the original Wano is under water and we only see a fraction of what it used to be. We see this trope in Adventure Time, LoZ Windwaker, etc.

Emu for sure has the power to terraform as seen with his response to Sabo leaking information. I think we will be able to tie a lot of these theories together during the Egghead arc and when Princess Vivi re-emerges!

Zunesha was so happy feeling a familiar presence within Monkey D. Luffy when he turned into Sun God: Nika. If Joy Boy did build the original Wano that is submerged in the sea waters and probably put the trust to maintain the country alive to the Kozuki Clan so Toki could met them, which she did with Oden.
