I have a question. In A new hope, Vader says, 'Obi wan is here, the force is with him'. What made him think or why did he think that the force was with Obi Wan. Can force users know that the force is not on their side or was he just saying that because he sensed that Obi wan was very powerful in the force at that time?

This is exactly what happened during his confrontation with Vader in ROTJ. Luke doesn't want to fight or kill his father but for a brief moment, he was tempted and came extremely close to actually doing it. Luke caught himself and realized it was the darkness tempting him, this very same thing happened when he looked into Ben's mind as he slept. He pulled out his lightsaber and was just going to end it but caught himself, but this time the situation was already out of Luke's control and Ben defended himself. This left Ben broken and disillusioned with his current path and so the darkness pounced and consumed him. This also mirrors Anakin's fall because Anakin foresaw his wife dying and to make sure this didn't happen, he joined Sidious which ultimately *led* to her death.
