‘I Spent £3,500 on Turkey Teeth & It Ruined My Life' | This Morning

It might seem like a bargain, but as our next guest found out, getting cosmetic dentistry in Turkey can be a very expensive - and painful - mistake. After cancer treatment left her feeling insecure about her teeth, Sarah Watson flew out in the hope of achieving the perfect smile with veneers. But instead, she returned home with rotting gums, excruciating sensitivity and a HUGE bill to get everything fixed. She joins us alongside dentist Dr Trishala to share her story and warn others about going abroad for dental treatment.

Someone needs to tell Josie that "run of the mill" refers to average, normal, everyday. Where as "been through the mill" refers to having an arduous, gruelling or physically tiresome or painful experience.

I have Multiple sclerosis and an NHS dentist. I'm in terrible pain she won't help me. I had a gap between my two front teeth oh 45 years closed up and my teeth are beginning to cross over. Unless I pay her, I can't afford 😊to. And I have wisdom tooth won't come through no space. Its just more pain ❤❤❤

i’m so baffled why they filed her teeth then gave her a bridge. i paid 5k and went to sevil smile in turkey best thing i ever did. and i searched this clinic for years before i went and with recommendations

It's expensive but I'm an adult with braces at the moment. Highly recommend if you are going to do it, do it with braces.

I have been to The Dental Centre Turkey in Antalya….the clinic is state of the art and the level of care and consultation was excellent. This lady’s story is horrendous but you have to research carefully where you go and the clinic I went to plan everything with you. Dentistry is still dentistry there is no magic formula but the attention to detail and the results are exceptional at the Dental Centre Turkey. I paid £5400 for 23 crowns and two implants and the results are outstanding. Five years later my teeth are still perfect……but I stress it is vital to carefully research the clinic…..if you can only pay in cash and you are not fully scanned and involved in the planning then something is very wrong and you should not proceed.

I am sorry for the lady. Years ago I paid €750 only for one implant here in İstanbul. Unfortunately there are unreliable people here:(

To fit one tooth with a veneer the process is an initial consultation. Then the actual appointment where they remove the outer layer of the tooth and the dentist makes a mould of our mouth. Then the dentist sculpts a temporary tooth while the final veneer is being hand sculpted, in porcelain and fired in an oven. To do that properly for a full mouth of teeth and only pay £3500! She was ignorant. And went for the cheapest price in Turkey.

I'm so sorry you went through what you went through. The dentists in the UK started to ruin my teeth when I was just 15, back in the day when just just filled everybody's teeth with that horrible grey metal, just for money they'd claim back off the nhs. I grew up in care, had a gap between my front teeth, got called gappy amongst other names and had low self esteem. I can sympathise with anyone who has low self esteem. This dentist himself had really yellow teeth, foul breath and said I'll do a brace (I had a bar brace) but I need to do fillings first 😏🤔. There was nothing "wrong" with my teeth, no toothache, no bad breath, all 4 wisdom teeth, he even said I had nice white strong teeth. But I hated the gap. I did question, but was ignored. Who was I to know any better at the time, I was the foster kid with my foster mum, who also never asked any questions. Now at the age of 56, I have crowns, 2 back bridges where other dentists continued to maul my mouth. I've since paid for white filling replacement, new better crowns but can't afford anymore treatment. Four perfectly good teeth, although had the "fake" fillings were filed down for the bridge each side after 2 teeth were removed. I couldn't afford an implant. I'd like an implant each side now and the 4 teeth crowned. They want £58 just to discuss my options. A total disgrace. You don't need to go abroad to get your teeth ruined, they do it right here in the UK. The only real positive is I can sympathise with other's and help overcome the lack of self esteem. Our test becomes our testimony, and only knowing the true Messiah, Yeshua, our LORD will give us our self worth through him. God bless and anybody going through a tough time. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I had my teeth done in India, the dentist there were horrified by the clients they’ve seen who have had work done in Turkey. I can’t say enough about my treatment, they were amazing and made our dentists here in the UK seem so backward. I went for private treatment here and there was no doubt it was just about money. I am going back to have 3 implants done in October after the posts were put in last visit, would recommend if you wanted a holiday at the same time.

THATS SAD she just went thro all that treatment for cancer and she dare not get a full understanding of what they was gonna do in her MOUTH!!! one would think she was old enough to know to ASK QUESTIONS AND ALL THAT OTHER stuff..ppl so weird.
