A Survivor's Guide to *Lost Island* in ARK Survival Evolved

Welcome to my ARK series of Survivor's Guides to each map. Today we rundown Lost Island. The fifth official mod map and back to primitive style of ARK Survival Evolved.

I like to PvP, and PvE. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, I'm not fussed. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, maybe even fast flyers and primitive plus, usually covering all maps from Island to Genesis Part 2. And one day. ARK 2!

This map really is the perfect map, every Biome, Maewings, Managarmrs, snow owls, three new creatures, giant map, lots of caves, lots of castles, temples etc. And a very high amount of caves and pve spots.

I love the architecture of this map. The zones make sense via the topography. They also tended to put the right dinos into locations that would fit their lore. Smaller, more nimble creatures in the jungles makes sense as opposed to hulking behemoths.

I built right next to those air vents. It's a nice, central location, with quick access to 5 biomes and the air jets are great for getting quick height on a diving flyer, like and owl or maewing (both of which can be tamed near by).

I love the map, but there's a fair number of problems the devs need to work on.

- Super concentrated ocean spawns
- Mesh problems
- Including *Alpha* Carnos *and* Aberrant Raptors in cave(s), making them *very* difficult, especially when you can't use big creatures throughout.

I feel like the scorched earth area is inspired by the continent of yokuda from the elder scrolls, because yokuda is the ancestral home of the red guard race, which in Tamriel, have settled in the province of hammerfell, an arid desert of a region.

lost island is basically just the island but with more biomes, more creatures, and a bigger map. its just a better map.

Is it me or am I the only one who has been cursed with a thousand leeches converging somewhere around the swamps close to the green ob? I swear there were at least 100 of them, all crawling out of the water in different directions at night with nothing but a torch on. It was nightmare-inducing!!!

All you have to do is say "this map returns to primitive" and boom no one complains. Even though there are OP shoulder flyers, magmasaurs made a joke to raise, all 4 wyvern types present, x and r variants, abnormally intense lag, easy managarmrs with no counters, easy boss for element, and feroxes.

Iirc managarmrs were one of the biggest complaints about extinction, and they are even easier to tame that before. You have net gun.

I love your map vids, this map seems amazing the best so far since it has all the engrams unfortunetly only 1 boss, hope Fjordur brings all engrams too.

The map is brilliant, but I can never seem to escape the jungle ngl, everywhere I go it’s jungle or swamp, like the og island, still a good map tho
