Deep in the ice-laden Svalbard archipelago, between Norway and the North Pole, lies a majestic island of snow-capped mountains, deep fjords and incredible wildlife that will forever change your view of the Arctic. That place is Spitsbergen, the crown of Arctic Norway.

More Quark Expeditions ⇨

In 1991, Quark Expeditions took the first-ever group of commercial travelers to the North Pole on a transit of the Northeast Passage. In the three decades since that first ground-breaking trip, Quark Expeditions has been at the forefront of polar exploration, taking thousands of travelers on polar expeditions to remote parts of the Arctic and Antarctic, where no one else has set foot.

Weird question. Do people ever NOT go on any zodiac cruises on the trip? Wife and I were on your antarctic cruise and we did the zodiacs to set foot on Antarctica and see penguins up close but I'm wondering what the zodiacs do for the Arctic (other than getting you wet and chilly)?
