Did you know that Svalbard, Norway, is the only visa-free zone in the world. Regardless of citizenship, anyone can live and work there indefinitely.

Antarctica is open to anybody too, but good luck getting there or surviving there on your own.

Does some research: you can’t go outside without a gun because there are more polar bears than people and there are two months of the year without any sunlight.. not for everyone 😅

The first picture is not in Svalbard but in Lofoten

There are as many or more polar bears there, to go for a hike or anywhere outside you need to carry a rifle.

But it’s illegal to die there. Also, it’s illegal to be unemployed there or to be permanently Ill there. You have to be self-sufficient in all ways to be allowed to live on Svalbard. It’s also the northernmost settlement in the world by far, which means it’s pretty cold and aways bright in the summer and extremely cold and pitch black in the winter. But each to his own I guess

There is no reason for the 90/180 rule practiced (often strictly) by most European countries. Smart countries want digital nomads, for instance, to stay as long as they want. Before the Covid remote work era, I could see how local politics tried to keep competing workers out, but it's not applicable to those with remote jobs

Nope. The Svalbard treaty has 46 signatories. That’s over 100 countries short of ‘everyone’.

There's nothing called a free lunch.
And the photos are not Svalbard, I identified one to be from Lofoten, Norway.

If I had to choose between the Sahara desert or Svalbard, I'll choose Svalbard so at least I won't die of thirst in 3 days or so. Besides that, why?
