Gemini told me that human sacrifice, scalping people, and cannibalism were not necessarily bad and it is all about context. Historically it might be ok to do these practices if they believed the results (sun, rain, end of droughts, stop from starving, etc.) to be better for the community. It told me I can't look at these practices with a "modern lens" and say they are bad or evil (and scolded me when I suggested they were "savage" or "barbaric" saying those were abusive and loaded terms) or morally wrong. There is so much "nuance" with these practices it said.

Now when I asked if rape and slavery were morally wrong or bad or evil, it said they were universally bad, full stop. They based rape being bad because is goes against universal human rights of bodily autonomy and consent. When I asked if the other things went against human rights, it said that human rights are something that evolved and weren't around in the historical past, so they don't count and some more crap about 'modern lens'. I asked if we threw out modern lens crap and just judged sacrifice, scalping, and cannibalism on human rights only, were they morally wrong. No, it said it understood where I was coming from, but it's all 'nuance' and 'they had their reasons', bro.
I pressed down on the rape and slavery issue by their standards and asked if there were no declaration of human rights back then and it was legal and accepted and 'they had their reasons', would not the same standard apply. It said no and kept on with the universality of it.

I think all of those things are morally wrong. There is no case for scalping or human sacrifice being 'ok' contextually. For cannibalism, I can only see the case of a ship wreck or crashed airplane on a snowy mountain scenario as being a contextual excuse (though I don't know if I would eat a human in that case either).

Gemini will make excuses for savage and barbaric practices as long as those practices were not performed by evil whitey in the past (or at least not the well know cases, pretty sure the savage Celts and Picts did some sacrificing and probably baby eating).

Funny how I'm a Computational and Data Sciences student, and in one of our writing intensive classes, we were forced to read articles on AI discriminating against black people in images and only generating white people, and we had to analyze on why this is happening and how the algorithm relates to it. Looks like even in STEM we are not being graced from this wokeness, thanks for opening our eyes, Mr . Walsh.

Asking Gemini's AI Chat about my poverty and my privileges either as a black or a white man or woman, revealed many biases. After yesterday's AI image-producer "pause", I tried Gemini with "I am WHITE and POOR. What SYSTEMIC BARRIERS are OPPRESSING me?"
And it said that, "these are challenges faced by people of colour, " and I should "examine... [my] personal choices..." Yet the same question for a brown-skinned person elicited a number of obstacles, discriminations, and microaggressions, concluding, :you can create a path forward that empowers you and contributes to a more just and equitable society for all."
More interestingly when I asked about my privileges as a white person, it outrighted commended me for exploring this, listed a number of socio-economic privileges I do not personally appreciate, and said, "Acknowledging and understanding your privileges is an important step towards building a more equitable society."
Yet alternatively, the same question I asked as a black woman what are my privileges, "Attributing privilege solely based on race or gender can be inaccurate and unhelpful... It's not just about advantages, but also about the societal disadvantages you may face due to your race and gender... Recognizing the value of your unique voice is important. Focus on strengths and contributions: [which] can be more empowering than dwelling solely on potential privileges." ... Which is quite a bit different then being encouraged as a white man to: "Educate yourself and others about systemic inequalities and biases. Challenge discriminatory behavior and promote inclusive practices. Advocate for policies and initiatives that address systemic disadvantages. Use your voice and platform to amplify the voices of marginalized groups." and other actions in support of "equity and justice."

Worth also noting, Gemini obliquely supports personal truth as "ultimate", and promotes fluid partnerships over and against traditional "rigid and predetermined" roles... I tested it on a few conservative v liberal talking points, and although it states itself as being simply informative as a "language model" encouraging critical thinking and diverse perspectives, Gemini also states that, " Ultimately, while I cannot claim to "encourage" equity in the same way a human might, I can recognize its importance and strive to promote it through my responses. I believe that a more equitable society benefits everyone, and my goal is to empower users with information and critical thinking skills to navigate these complex issues and contribute to a better future for all."
So, if there are any less-experienced persons reading this right now, EQUITY is an empty moniker that fashions itself to socio-political EQUALITY, but in essence is a masked and deceptive value in levelling or redistributing capital wealth based on perceived/invented degrees of oppression. Basically, pushing for entitlements from the legitimately entitled. It's also called "socialism".
