Call me crazy…but at least I don’t have any pain, leaking, or issues with my 2nd yet🤰🙌

What’s crazy is what I see happen to moms bodies left untreated during & after pregnancy (all moms deserve pelvic PT) 🫶

Are you afraid to workout during pregnancy b/c you think the hormone relaxin causes tissue laxity resulting in weakness & injuries? (I was with my 1st too but I followed the research instead!)🙋‍♀️⬇️

The truth is that working out is important for preventing/managing common injuries during AND after pregnancy! (Resting, sitting, and avoiding exercise can actually make your pain + issues worse!)⬇️

I worked out 40 weeks + 3 days and went to vinyasa class the day my first was born and here I’m 38 weeks doing the same!

You want to avoid bed rest or pelvic rest UNLESS advised by your MD (sometimes you really can’t workout😢)

AND it’s never too late to heal even if it’s been 40 plus years!

🛑Remember just b/c someone tells you “exercise isn’t safe during pregnancy b/c of relaxin” doesn’t mean it’s TRUE❌

There is a lot of misinformation by “influencers” that aren’t licensed medical professionals✅

Lastly, if you are pregnant and you think your body is going to end up “unstable” and you will have “laxity” due to the hormone RELAXIN…..PLEASE STOP thinking that🛑

Studies show that relaxin is not increasing your risk of injury but instead that your FEAR AVOIDANCE and ANXIETY are putting you at inc. risk for injury!🤯

There are a lot of fear based behaviors and fear avoidance when it comes to exercise during pregnancy and pp recovery but evidence based research suggests that exercise during pregnancy and pp is associated with many health benefits for the baby and mom!⬇️⬇️⬇️:

✅maternal psychosocial well being
✅cardiovascular fitness
✅maintaining body mass
✅dec. risk of gestational hypertension
✅preeclampsia
✅gestational diabetes
✅dec. risk of C-section delivery, perineal tears, and instrumental delivery
✅inc. pelvic floor muscle strength
✅dec. urinary incontinence
✅ dec. recovery time
