If I understand correctly, in some countries, the partner in an affair can be sued alongside the cheating spouse or espoused for compensation, though presumably it has to be demonstrated that the cheating partner was, or should have been, aware that they were party to an affair.

Which admittedly is slightly different than what is being discussed here, and is mentioned only for conpare and contrast purposes.

I was on a jury last year for a case with this law in NC. It was a crazy experience to try and put value on someone’s relationship.
