I have had this for 12 years now. I was a Extreme Sportist. Did Aggressive Inline skating half my life. I think I got it from that. It is the biggest battle I fight everyday of my life!!!! I cant stand in 1 spot for more than 30mins without needing to get off of them. Walking is alright, but to long and the pain will ache. Standing is by far the WORST though. No way can I stand long. I have to keep moving or get off my feet. I only weigh 130lbs. Right now I got toe shoes and are training myself to walk properly, to strengthen the muscles that havnt been being used, I have a Plantar Fascia stretch device that works pretty good, and a roller to massage and stretch more. Plus doing calf stretches and all that stuff. Its slowly working and going to be a very long process it seems. It sucks dealing with people who just don't UNDERSTAND the pain and battle of this condition. Especially my Narcissistic, Egotistical, Hypocritical boss and the work I do. Its tuff. I feel all your pain and hope the best for you all to overcome this horrible issue. Dedicate and self discipline yourself and let's beat this shit! 💪😎

I was experiencing this pain a few minutes ago. I did stretching in the arch of my foot, with Sesame seed oil and reflexology, stretching from the heel of the foot. Even massaging the ball of the foot and even massaging the ball of the foot. When I woke up the last couple of days, I stood up getting out of bed and the pain was excruciating. Thank you so much. I saw a Podiatrist who offered me nothing in the way of stretches; she prescribed a 15 mg anti-inflammatory med and $45 inserts for my shoes that after two weeks I discovered didn’t even fit my arch. Your video offers so much more towards my healing than my failed drs visit. Thank you

love your video and the way you explain plantar fasciitis. Just want to add that you can also wear a special sock that keep your toes stretched overnight in order to avoid this big pain of the first step in the morning

Fantastic information as always Dr. Mandell. The only thing I would have added is that a person could also get a professionally molded Birkenstock insert to their tennis shoes for just walking purposes. It is uncomfortable at first, but after a year of wearing them, it helped me TREMENdously. In general, just a gel insert can help, if they don't do a Birkenstock molded insert. If a person has a high arch, like I do, they kind of need that added arch support, and otherwise, great info as always! Thank you! Oh, AND I also would have added that they could get a cortisone injection in the foot, which I did do, BUT I only did once, because it was SO painful, I said I'd never do it again! LOL!

Very good video. I have had plantarF for couple months. I even did physical therapy but the therapists did not seem to know how to treat this. So Im home doing everything you said. You are so right about muscles you pointed out to stretch them in legs and of course stretching the fasciia. The stretching and massage will fix. Time n patience and all you said and showed. Thank you.

I've watched at least 50 videos on this subject and by far the Doctor has said the best information quickly and the point. More importantly I feel better because of his strength stretching notes. Thank you doctor.

I had this problem once while training up for the Honolulu Marathon. I used waterproof athletic tape to provide support. I was able to heal while continuing normal training. There was no pain at all with the tape on. Anti-inflamitories helped too, I think. In the end I ran a painless marathon.

I'm underweight. I don't run. Burning sensation has lasted over 9 weeks. Never had this problem before. 55 years old. I have good footwear. I'll give this a go!

You are absolutely wonderful!! Thank you for sharing this info. I have a terrible case of plantar fasciitis! Its the worse pain that I have ever been experienced! I don't understand how I encountered this problem. Im not overweight, athletic and Im not on my feet excessively. Ive been suffering with this for the past 2+ plus. Anyways, thanks again for sharing!
