Don't Break Debian | Debian vs Ubuntu | Setup APT for Debian

In this video, I show you how to setup apt for Debian and explain how Ubuntu vs Debian. This is so you don't break Debian. I had some misconceptions that I need to correct and I think are common misconceptions that most newbies to Debian have. Don't do these things!

My main OS is macOS, but I always like to experiment with Linux in a virtual machine now and again. I'd had Ubuntu installed for a long time and then just recently (yesterday) installed Debian as well and I'm already loving it. It feels very stable and I find this sources.list method for app management fascinating. A really cool change of pace. I'm a big fan of your videos Titus, I can't get enough of the Linux content! I went full linux. Probably should have planed a bit more but here I am. One of the things I did, of course, was play some games. I like a game called Smite. Sadly I am not sure about installation. Anyone done that or knows a bit about it? Or maybe if Chris is board he can go though it? Thanks!

You are a kde user. If you realy want to use kde under debian, install netrunner, it's based out of the box on debian testing and kde has it own apt sources. Netrunner is what kde-neon is for ubuntu.

I like having a root account . but all you do is type adduser *yourusername sudo. it adds you name to the sudo group. This is just a perk to debian fyi.

The worst thing you can do is to install Nvidia driver using nvidia-installer. Never do that. The best and the simplest way is simply to do "sudo apt install nvidia-driver"

Hey I got some serious problems when installing Debian on my Laptop as Dual Boot ASUS Vivobook PRO N580GD. Debian Installer does not detect my Wifi Hardware and when Installing and After installing The Debian Wifi and My Touchpad is not working. I have installed some drivers but it didn't work for me. Now I'm Using Fedora with dual boot with windows. But i Love to Use debian. If you Could give a solution for my problem that will be great!.
