Hurricane Milton rapidly intensified at a mind-boggling rate into a Category 5 over the record-warm Gulf of Mexico. It is expected to grow in size, which means that although it may decrease in category, its dangerous impacts will be spread over a much larger area. #CNN #News

If only scientists had told us 20 years ago this would start happening, oh wait they did

Remember Floridians, Matt Gaetz voted against any FEMA help, one of your representatives in Congress.

Sandbags against a 10-12 feet storm surge. I did the math in my head and came to the conclusion that you should probably leave right now 😅.

My friends just evacuated from Tampa and this is the Storm them and their friends have been fearing for the longest time. I've been begging them to move back to NJ for the longest time but they always talk about the easy life of Florida. I get that but I don't know what is easy about the threat of losing your entire livelihood every year.

That's what happens when the water is warmer than usual. Now do you get it?

If you're in the path of this storm, get out while you still can.

There's no way anyone could have seen this coming. (except 50 years of climate sciences screaming their heads off) Besides that, no way at all.

We are so fu*ked. I live in Sarasota downtown and we are told now to pack a go bag bc we will be in Level C soon. Waters will be historically high 8-12 feet, loss of power, gas stations are out of gas. Heed the message. Get out. 💞

R.I.P to my ignorant, selfish grandmother who is staying home in Indian Rocks Beach, Tampa for this storm. Not only that, but had the nerve to ask my sister (WHO IS 6 MONTHS PREGNANT) to come and help her. Glad my sister decided to say no and stay in Ontario where its safe.

Appalachian native here you guys are asking about when power coming back on in North Carolina. They’re still digging bodies out of the mud. They can’t even get people out to rescue them because of roads washed out these people have no food and water or power and people are still dying.

This is like the 4th weather person I’ve watched, that’s been shock by this thing. Please evacuate if you’re in its path. We didn’t evacuate during Florence (because it went down to a cat 1) and our town was utterly devastated. Get out now.
