I’ve seen The Library in bookshops and was always tempted to get the book. But as somebody who already has a good knowledge on libraries I am a bit hesitant to pick it up, I’m afraid it can’t give me anything new.
Before I moved countries I had to get rid of a life time collection of books (nearly 30 years worth which came up to around 3000 books). I gave books to friends and the majority got sold. Now I try to keep a much smaller collection because I never want to get into that hassle again. When I die I want my books to go to people who can benefit from them, that would be a good outcome. Hoping that this is many decades into the future I’m not sure though how relevant some of the topics or research in those books will be.

If I go before my wife does, I would hope my books would stay around to haunt her should she decide to "move on." 😅😅😅 Sorry, tasteless joke there! I like your idea of donating your books to a library in need. I'd like to somehow donate my books to various local little free libraries.

You'll enjoy the Dan Jones book Powers and Thrones. I read it last month and it gives a really good basic insight into European powers during the medieval period.

Yea for another history haul from you. I always enjoy what you are coming up with. Right now I am reading Liberty is Sweet. I just looked on p.403 and saw the answer...but I don't want to give it away. I'm thinking I should get the Brands and the Dan Jones as I also have lots of credits from the History Book Club. I finished the Fred. Douglas biograhy; I hope you are enjoying reading it. Wish we could give you some of our rain. It's been a bad winter for slides here on the Northwest Olympic Peninsula in Washington. Take cre.

I saw Powers and Thrones recently in a “bad book covers” video, which was funny, because the cover alone made me add it to my wishlist hahaha 😍 I love that style of cover.
