Always look forward to your book hauls. My wife got me that 5 volume set a couple of years ago and I thoroughly enjoyed reading them.

Wow! So exciting! I hope you can read fast and take lots of notes to share with us all the wisdom! 😁. Just kidding…. I will look up these treasures for myself
The history of the the Jewish faith in the time of Christ looks very interesting. And as a Lutheran, I had a hearty giggle over Luther’s response “it was good works after all!” 😆
Thank you for sharing!!! The longer your videos the better!!!

The Whiston Josephus is from the 1700s (including the footnotes). It's a decent introduction to the subject.

I was so excited to see this video title, religious history is so fascinating! One of my ‘to read in 2022’ books is a history of The Jesuits. As a Jesuit ‘fan’, I’m looking forward to that one ❤️ The jesuit one I already own. One I don’t own and *shouldn’t* buy because I’ve bought enough books recently (but who knows it it’ll end up in my amazon cart anyway haha) is “Dominion: How the Christian Revolution Remade the World”, by Tom Holland. (Have you read that one?)

I love when they have those $5 book sales. You can discover all kinds of interesting reads that way. I found the complete works of Josephus at a 2nd hand bookstore years ago and it's been a great tool to dip in and out of when I'm studying. I would love to have The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah. That 5 volume set was a steal! And they are gorgeous, too!

That book about Luther and Pope Leo sounds fantastic. I will definitely check it out. What a great haul!

Peg, I know this is off topic for this video but I’m curious if you’ve seen the American Battlefield Trust YouTube channel. I just found it but it appears to give you tours of the Civil War Sites and a good bit of history. Thought you might be interested.

Very nice haul Peg. If you haven't got one already, I recommend the New Oxford annotated Bible with Apocrypha. The notes in that section in particular are very helpful in finding a historical footing.
