It's a villain song in a movie with no villain. LAYERS is the absolute simplest way to describe this movie. Every single time you watch it you find more layers and more depth and that applies to all of the songs as well.

The best thing about this song: even without knowing their powers, you can hear them in their singing.

Pepa: she has to remain happy and upbeat, or else she’ll cause another hurricane.
Dolores: With sensitive hearing, she never raises her voice, preferring to almost rap and slow sing than belt.
Camilo: as a shapeshifter and an impression comedian, his voice is the most expressive.
Isabela: as the bride to be and firstborn daughter, she has to be as perfect and dainty as the roses and other flowers she makes.

Fan fact: Bruno’s original name was Oscar, but Lin Manuel Miranda wanted to change the name to Bruno, for the sole fact of being to be able to rhyme “Bruno, no, no, no”

You may know this, as a vocal teacher, but the layered singing in this is called a “madrigal”, which also happens to be the surname for the family in this film 😊

Please react to more Encanto songs:
1. The Family Madrigal
2. Surface Pressure
3. What else can I do

The beginning of the song is so secretive and "quiet", cause Mirabel is prying into it and investigating. By the end of it, with everyone singing their parts and prophecies together, it all sounds like a hurricane of bad omens, like Mirabel opened the Pandora's Box by bringing the name "Bruno" up. I love it.

This song. That every character has a distinct style and sound and they all blend so well and the vocals plus the storytelling. Chef’s Kiss.

You are the first person I’ve seen who acknowledged Dolores and her note when she walked out into the town.

Best song in Encanto! My other favourites: “The Family Madrigal, ” “Waiting For a Miracle” and “Surface Pressure” 4:15 I knew you’d pick up on Dolores’ “no no noOo” and I’m so happy you did because she sounds so good and when she sang “betrothed to another”😍

I LOVE Dolores, I can't say it enough. I wish she had her own song cause I adore her voice and her character design is gorgeous.
Edit: I also love Cam I wish he sang more too.

In the film, Delores sings so quietly because she has super hearing... so anything above a whisper sounds really loud. And I'm really glad they incorporated that into her singing part!!

"Women don't always sing up here" 😂😂😂

Never clicked faster than this when I saw you're giving the reaction to this song!

And yes! By all means watch it. The soundtracks are quite refreshing especially then watching Lin-Manuel Miranda on the interviews and breaking down about each songs 🥺🥺🥺

Anyway, thank you for the reaction! Sooo soooo sooo happy you're back yay! Sending you lots of love

For now, Disney seems to be leaning heavily on song writers with musical theater backgrounds. You’ve got two major sources:

• Lin Manuel Miranda who wrote In the Heights and Hamilton did songs for Moana and did most of the song writing on Encanto.

• Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the married couple who wrote Avenue Q and the music for The Book of Mormon. They’ve written songs for Frozen, Frozen 2, WandaVision, Coco, and contributed lyrics to Encanto.

You should do dubbing. Have a very charismatic voice

If you want a beautifully different sound, you must react to Surface Pressure from this film. A lovely alto voice but with lots of versatility from Jessica Darrow, Lin Manuel Miranda is a musical genius! 🎶 🥰

I always loved the way the balanced the voices of Mauro Castillo (Felix) and Carolina Gaitán (Pepa) so perfectly. Mauro has such a big, powerful voice and it really takes a delicate touch to make sure he doesn't overpower Carolina's vocals, both from the singers and the post production team.

4:21 you're the first person to react to Dolores' adlib and I'm so proud 😭 finally someone who paid attention to details and how technically good Dolores' VA is

Yes, definitely watch the movie! Lin Manuel Miranda wrote all of the songs for the movie and fought for different voices and body types to be included instead of just your typical Disney film characters, especially the females. My personal fav is Surface Pressure.
