It’s still too soon to know how high insurance claims from Hurricane Ian will climb, but there is little doubt for those who know that Florida’s already stressed and expensive property insurance process will become a crisis for those buckling under the costs, or who won’t be able to afford it at all.

I live in Ohio. I haven't had insurance in 15 yrs. Had it for 15 yrs before that and never made a single claim. Got tired of rediculous high premiums to pay for some snobs beach houses. Quit playing their game long ago. In Cuba they make the houses out of concrete. I wonder why?

Good luck getting contractors to come and repair or build an entire new house... people will be waiting for MONTHS if not longer.

Move to Wisconsin, plenty of lakes to enjoy here. Plus ice fishing.

There should be criminal charges and mandatory financial restitution instituted for roofing companies and the attorneys who commit fraud in these roofing schemes that will help end the scams.

I’m starting to feel no sympathy, some empathy. Move from those low lying areas. Period. These storms are clearly gettin worse. God bless and Rip that lost their lives. Be smart, move.

What potential, we have been like that for ever. Every year these insurance comapnies raise home insurance even if we have no storms or hurricanes

The government sends money all over the world. Let them bailout these families in Florida. I'm good with it.

Florida is a high risk state because of hurricanes but when they leave it is perfect.

What in the world are these insurance companies doing with all of our money! This is a catastrophe millions of dollars get sent out & fema is there, so it's high time these big spenders stop squandering our money away on their luxury lives while people are left to suffer, otherwise why any of us bother to pay them a damn cent, if they don't do what they're supposed to do, & jack up the rates after any event happens, just think of all the money we'd saved if we weren't so damn insurance poor🤬

lol how are they gonna help the home insurance market? Give already rich people FREE MONEY for having a bad year??

lol not one dime will go to actual homeowners, it will ALL go to the pockets of those who DON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEM WHATSOEVER paying bills or repairing their homes with loads of cash.
