Homeless woman shares grim realities of living in a shelter.

This homeless mother of 2 has to build her entire day around the operating hours of her shelter. It makes navigating work and daycare so strenuous. Not everyone ends up homeless for the same reasons, but lack of resources sure sounds like the common denominator. 2.4 million Americans are about to be evicted, and most of them don’t have access to the assistance they need to keep a roof over their heads. As eviction rates climb, advocates are urging Congress to strengthen federal protections for renters. Have you ever missed a few rent payments? How hard was it to get back to square one?

My son and I just got out of the shelter. My heart goes out. I'll be returning the same shelter I lived in, to volunteer and help out where I can. I've been homeless with my son so I know the feeling. It's humbled me to it core. And I will always and forever look out for my fellow homeless friends out in the world..

It's rough out there, especially when you have kids, but she maintains a good attitude, and I believe she will be in a better place soon for her and her family, she seems very strong and resilient, a great role model for her children, I wish them well...

People say arent there shelters??? Ummm ya ever been??? Once in VERY hard & LONG road to get into a place ESPECIALLY if you have any savings. The agencies don't like that NO MATTER the reason. Stay STRONG mama!!! May God bless you!!!

That is criminal that they charge to save their money for them. That should not be allowed. I know banks charge fees but these are not banks and these are services for out most vulnerable citizens. They should get free savings accounts at the very least
