"finding the best composition with 200ish trials and errors"

Lily: Worth it

Honestly Lily this is almost my exact strategy that I use in my mind not just for Star Rail, but for every single RPG I’ve played since I was a kid. I got that habit from watching my mom play JRPGs back in the day before she had to focus more on work and I took up the mantle. It’s like a fun board game, if the game was you watching hot anime people beat up monsters for fun. 😂

Hoyolab "Pros" : Why is HSR so hard?!
Their team : Jingyuan + Jingliu + DHIL + Lynx

Too little has been said about the MASSIVE quality of life changes the HSR team has done for the game. The ability to quickly reset MOC encounters to test strategies and rotations is such a boon. Lily's video is a great demonstration of this.

What a convenient timing for this Lily, I've been stuck at 2 stars for floor 11 and 12 of MoC for a while now, my Ratio just doesnt have enough dmg for the Meme or Sam. So I adjusted and put Kafka in the first half of floor 12 with Asta, Tingyun, and Huo huo to take advantage of the lightning weakness among all the units (and just funnel energy into Kafka), and a BS, guin, RM, gepard lineup for the Meme (I spammed geppy skill to delay the shapeshifter summon and the Meme instakills, as well as shields). It went way smoother after adjusting the rotations just like you did in this video. I guess I'll be using DoT/break teams on both sides from now on.

Thank you for the team building guide, Lily! Although I’m not a break team user, my approach to MoC enemies are more or less similar. I try to use the weakness advantage to the fullest while also understanding which enemies need to be taken care of first. Hoyolab also contribute in my MoC success with their lineup assistant. When I’m in doubt of which enemies need to be prioritized, someone on hoyolab will have the answer.

This behind the scenes was so interesting! It would be really cool to see more of your trial and errors outside of showcases - it's nice knowing I'm not the only person to reset countless times for the best results.

Preemptive team is great early on, while Reactive team is better when you have alot more character built.

I just beat my head against the floor with different characters until I get the 10 cycle clear :D. But yeah, this is like what I do but with thought put into it.

What i learn is, you are a very hard worker
Right now i'm focusing on build my support (but it really takes forever)
Btw, r u using excel too for FGO before playing HSR? for HSR, i found it really convenient because they only take our energy for farming

Hmm, so I guess when it comes to MoC, I'm both Preemptive and Reactive. I can brute-force one half with Mono-Quantum (thanks to Silver Wolf), but I have to be considerate in which half I do so, so that for the other half, I can use a hypercarry of an actual suitable element.

It's very interesting. I'll try to follow it😅

I could never do something like this. I'm going to send this video to a friend that I have been struggling to explain to how to play the game for months. I always send him here because tbh I just kind of know what to do from playing so many turn based rpgs over the years. It's really hard to actually put any of this stuff into words for me.

very similar to what I do. I always check if what element the enemy are weak to. Then pick a carry to counter the element, if no one then force with Silver Wolf (Mostly QQ) then pick supports to compliment the carry. then Trial and Error the runs and pray for good RNG.

For me, it's Preemptive and a bit Reactive. I use hypercarry teams but I still choose supports based off enemies or turbulence. My DPS can brute force but I need my sustain and buffers/debuffers to counter enemy mechanics. I am more Reactive in PF (the only preemptive part is I still use my 2 favorite units regardless of enemies' weakness).

Not team building advice, but a revelation I had about Gacha Games in general.

I started looking at gacha games like it's a trading card game and suddenly it clicked to me how to build my teams. I had a foundation of characters since my beginning of play, and now my main teams are DoT and the Mono Quantum gang. Is it the best? Absolutely not, but it does follow Lily's pre-emptive method.

As for the reactive method, I do dabble in at least trying out different party members during MoCs, but I am suprised how well Pela works as the sole debuff supplier for doc. I'll go grab some cheap gear for her as well

Heyyo, random person here. I'm new to this creator, so I'm not sure if this is normal or not.

If I'm understanding correctly, all that was done was selected characters that were the correct weakness types for the battle and doing the battle over again for optimization?

And that was it for the "Guide for team building"?

I don't have enough built characters to truly put this strat to use yet, but yeah this is what I (attempt to) do to..
