Man this is the video I’ve been looking for. I used to play a lot of competitive in ORAS and did pretty good. I stopped playing ever since Sun and Moon and now I want to go back to competitive. Also would like to point out the only SV pokemon team building or pokemon guides are built around vgc and showdown.

I don't think showdown is complete trash. It serves a niche really well as a quick battle simulator you can play on mobile or PC and if you think a certain ruleset is dumb, don't play that format.

I don't mind a double battle from time to time but it's not the format I want to play competitively. It's not the format we spend 99% of the game playing.

I'm going to be honest: recently I've been working as a dragon-type gym leader in a Pokemon server I am a part of. I follow season 8 regulation D rules along with the entire server, and we build just like with the gyms in the game: Full team of 6 with the final Pokemon Tera into our gyms typing.

However I have a very serious problem, my team seems a bit too easy to defeat for trainers with me being the dragon type gym leader I've constantly made changes to try and better my team so it can pose more of a threat for anybody that wants to challenge me. I'm wondering if it's actually my team that has a problem or if it is me. Could honestly really use some help since I am the only gym that doesn't use a single legendary and I wanted to prove that I could be a very powerful and challenging gym without need of a legendary
