While this woman was practicing injecting her EpiPen, she accidentally injected the needle into her thumb instead of the orange, landing her in the ER. It releases the medication through a spring-loaded, 1-inch needle that activates when pressed against the thigh. But some people mistakenly place their thumb on the back, which isn’t necessary and can lead to accidents. The key to using it correctly is simple: Blue to the sky and orange to the thigh.

This is without a doubt the best way to give yourself or someone else and EpiPen injection. My brother is deathly allergic to bee stings. I have had practice.
