Mike's white '02 Sierra 2500 that you see in some of the videos has 272, 000 miles and still runs strong. He still pulls an 8000lb trailer with it.

I thought the bearing in my belt tensioner pulley was the culprit, i was wrong...i had some mass air flow cleaner (basically the same as carb cleaner) laying around and a brush and it did the trick. Definitely liking and subscribing...thank you!

Only thing that worked for me. Thanks!

That movement is normal. It is bad if the tensioner does not move, that means it could be frozen in place and not applying the correct tension to the belt. Different pulleys are constantly applying different pressure to the belt, stretching and contracting it ever so slightly, the tensioner just moves around to take up the slack.

My 'chirps' are intermittent when driving or idling, and I have no idea from which pulley they are being generated. Hoping my problem not something more serious like a water pump. Anything you might suggest I check/do before trying your cleaning method? Thanks in advance.

BTW, Your videos are great and I have been very happy with the parts ordered from your business. Keep up the great work!

Again, another good video. My 06 is the same truck only in black. Bought it new, now has 35, 000 miles on it. Some of the miles are Florida/Connecticut travel miles, 5 round trips, total of 15, 000 miles. Other wise I would have about 20, 000 on it. To me, Chevy trucks.... all they do is run.

I recently replaced the alternator because I thought a bad bearing was the cause of the chirp. Did not fix the chirp so I spritzed the belt with some water and the sound vanished and then came back.  So I sprayed belt conditioner on the belt and it amplified the sound.  I will definitely try cleaning it with carb cleaner.  Thanks 1A Auto!

my belt only squeaks when the car is cold and usually when i turn the wheel while its warming up.. would i need to adjust the tensioner? or should i try spraying it? after it warms up the belt is fine.. i dont really want to tighten it up too much

I have a 2005 Silverado and with a new belt and tensioner it didn’t help. I’m going to try this.
