I’m a licensed cosmetologist in Texas the heat is too high and she should’ve used a comb behind the flatiron. No need to pull

It doesn’t look like they blow dried first, which is a must

I am a licensed cosmetologist in Burnham, Illinois and this is causing heat damage to the hair. The heat is extremely too high. It is more likely too much oil within there. This client looks very natural. He should’ve went into smaller sections. He should’ve blow dried her out into smaller sections please do not do this. This is causing heat damage there any messes up the hair texture and it takes approximately 6 to 8 months for your curl pattern to come back

Do not do this to your hair cause it will cause breakage cause of your type of hair volume and will stop hair growth so please do not do this if u have 4c hair just style and wash it be yourself u do not have to be like those girls with straight athletic hair ❤love who you are and be yourself❤ (Reason why I’m telling y’all this: I experienced this before… if you want straight hair just wash it and blow it out)

When there is that amount of smoke and the color lightens in the hair, you know the hair is damaged. I’m sure it’s accompanied with a smell

Ive burned my hair like this when I was in high school. My hair turned a light sandy brown color and disintegrated when I touch it. It literally turned to ash right before my eyes. I was using a pressing comb on the stove. Lol.

Nomam, see this is why it’s always a must to see how a persons blow out is. Never ever for ever never use a flat iron to straighten hair. All a flatiron purpose is to smooth and seal; not straighten.

Hair comes in a variety of textures and types, which can largely be categorized into four main types: straight, wavy, curly, and coily. Each hair type has its own unique characteristics, from the way it grows to how it responds to moisture, styling, and other factors. Understanding these hair types is essential for choosing the right hair care products and styling techniques to maintain healthy, manageable hair.

Straight hair is typically sleek and smooth, with no natural curl or wave. It tends to be shinier because the sebum (natural oils produced by the scalp) can travel down the hair shaft more easily. This type of hair can often be fine or coarse and may be more prone to becoming oily, as the oils can accumulate more readily on the surface. Straight hair is usually easy to manage in terms of styling but can be more prone to looking flat if not treated with the right products for volume and texture.

Wavy hair falls between straight and curly. It often has a loose “S” shape that gives it a natural wave or bend. Wavy hair can vary in thickness, and depending on the level of curl, it can be more or less prone to frizz. People with wavy hair may find that it’s easier to style than curly hair but more difficult to maintain than straight hair, especially in humid conditions. Wavy hair may require more moisture to keep it from looking dry or frizzy, and styling products like mousse or sea salt spray are commonly used to enhance its natural texture.

Curly hair has more defined ringlets or spirals, making it more voluminous and often more challenging to manage than straight or wavy hair. Curly hair tends to be drier because the natural oils produced by the scalp have a harder time traveling down the twists and turns of each strand. Curly hair can range from loose curls to tight, corkscrew-like spirals, and because of its texture, it’s more susceptible to shrinkage, frizz, and tangling. Proper care for curly hair often involves deep conditioning treatments, leave-in conditioners, and curl-enhancing creams to define and hydrate the curls without weighing them down.

Coily hair, also known as afro-textured hair, has the tightest curls or zig-zags of all hair types. This texture is often very dense and can appear thicker than it actually is. Coily hair tends to be the most fragile of all hair types and requires a lot of moisture to prevent breakage and dryness. Due to the tightness of the coils, coily hair often experiences shrinkage, which can make it appear much shorter than it actually is. Like curly hair, coily hair benefits from products designed to moisturize, strengthen, and define the natural texture, and regular protective styling (such as braids or twists) can help manage its fragility while promoting growth.

Overall, understanding your hair type is crucial to ensuring that it gets the proper care it needs. With the right products and techniques, each hair type can be managed and styled to its best potential. Whether straight, wavy, curly, or coily, every hair type has its own beauty and challenges, and knowing how to work with your natural texture is key to keeping your hair healthy and vibrant.

This is why I will never again let a beautician straighten my hair. That is beyond ridiculous. Someone call the fire department.
