Wow. Good to know. I’m thinking about a lithium for starting my pro XS 150. But not now. I’ll buy a new AGM and use lithium on my trolling motor. Thank you for the info.

EPHOC told me mercury said it’s safe to run a lithium cranking battery. EPHOC has BMS on their 12v 120ah cranking battery. It will work with the alternator on any mercury outboard. I also called mercury and they want you to run their lithium battery as a cranking motor. But did say it’s safe to use a lithium cranking battery

Great video would’ve liked to seen it longer cause I’m sure there’s a lot more information about lithium. I’m considering switching from AGM, but I can’t find anything in regards how to charge and what type of charger I need to use if I switch to lithium. Would it be possible to put a longer video explaining everything from beginning to end before I go spending all this moneyon possibly buying Dakota lithium batteries for both of my boats the information will be greatly appreciated

Lithuim LiFePO4 is none combustible. They do not all look like a heap of a battery’s depends on the cells. And BS about 2 stroke, I have Evinrude G2 225HO and have run lithium for over 12 months. I have a lithium LiFePO4 hybird crank/start 1000CCA (designed for dumb charge) the BMS in it is designed to take the charge from the outboard up to 15.6Volts. Also a 200Ah Lithium LiFePO4 deep cycle house battery that is charged via crank through victron lithium profile 12V DCDC charger and 3 x 100Ah Lithium LiFePO4 with 36V trollbridge for my Minn Kota.

You just need to know what you are doing and the new lithium crank battery’s are designed for standard charge. I say new but last 2 years.

What you are referring to is when it first came out it was deep cycle only. 1. A BMS of a deep cycle Lithium LiFePO4 will not allow you to discharge at high enough rate to start a motor and will cut out. 2. They need to be charged by lithium profile charger and if not and connected directly to an outboard at high RPM and it reaches full charge they don’t float, it will cut out and go to open circuit which can cause a spike that will take out a alternator or EMM.

Don’t talk about shit you don’t understand.
