I have a Finnish husband, and the advice I would give for dating a Finnish man is don’t be surprised if you’re the one to ask him on a date or to make the first move etc. 😄 Also to be aware of cultural differences in dating. I’m American, and I was a little bit offended when he didn’t pay for my meal on a date until I learned that’s not usually the custom in Finland where women are more equal, which I appreciate!

As a finnish man I can completely relate to many of these answers. Humor definitely plays a huge part for me :) We are not really taught how to small talk and even tho it might sound disappointing 'pointless' chatter is not really the way to go here. Sense of humor and common interests bring people closer in Finland. We are interested to know you and if you find the right person you can definitely end up having the most deep and meaningful conversations with a finnish person. Good video! Hyvä video!
