Bottom line. A great boxer will impose his will. They will use any style to their advantage and switch styles and tactics accordingly.

The only guy I've seen it use it over and over in his fights was James Toney. He used it well against Michael Nunn and Vasiliy Jirov who were both southpaws and with different styles. One was a boxer puncher and the other one was swarmer/pressure fighter who was a pretty good puncher himself

Floyd Mayweather still used it when he fought south paws (but not as much ?). I recommend you watch a fight like Mayweather vs Pacquiao or Mayweather vs Ortiz and see how he adapts and what techniques he employs. A good tip is to watch parts of the fight in slow motion and then you can catch more details. He uses the shoulder roll against the jab and the hook. Against the straight left he will slip it, parry it, lean back, step back etc.

Ortho- ortho= right hand catches the jab, roll the right hand or dip.

Ortho- southpaw= right hand can catch the straight, roll the jab and right hook, pull counter on the straight left, or just bring rear hand up and roll to the left and catch the rear hook shot.

Hey I need help. I box southpaw but I’m right hand dominant. What are some tips to stiffen up my left. I can throw it hard but it’s not as hard as my right. A pro told me my first day training my jab was hard that’s because my right hand is forward. I feel if I developed my left I’d be nasty.

If they have good footwork your open to a uppercut/hook to the face if your in a shell defence position against opposite stance, very dangerous

Yes, it’s has a big advantage of using the jab as it give you a good angle for the jab
