This was a great marbles 101. Just bought a lot of 500 vintage marbles and this is just what I was looking for. I know a little about the agates and cat's eyes but this filled in some gaps in my knowledge. Thanks.

Pretty sure I picked up a couple of blue and white Benningtons today, they don’t seem perfectly circle. Man those German hand mades look superb 😮

Thank you. you helped me idtenfy a marble I found at my great grandparents farm. From what I saw in your video it is an Akro Agate corkscrew. Location is southeast Texas.

Nice video
I recently found 2 marbles that came out of an old city dump that closed in late 1930s.
Both look about the same style, one blue/white and the other orange/white.
Ive watched a bunch of vids and I just don't know.

Very informative video. I think I'm starting to figure out a few. I pick them up when I see them while I'm arrowhead hunting. I also just helped a lady clean out her attic. Her late husband was a collector of several different things. He was in his late 80s when he passed. I found a old tin can full of many different looking marbles while helping her. She said I could have the marbles for helping. Well she tried to give me lots of his stuff but I didn't feel rite taking them. The marbles were enough for me. If I make a video on them would you take a look. I would appreciate it.

I have a lot of marbles I got from a friend who was born around 1900 and would be interested in knowing what they are worth and how to sell them

Are you able to date a marble time range. I live on an old homestead but haven’t found any coins to date the property. I know people were here in the mid 1800’s but not sure how much earlier.

I collected marbles as a child, dug up a bunch from an old landfill. I think I have jar fulls of all these.

How do you know the difference between Akro, Peltier, Ravenswood, Vitro, and Heaton swirls? I am having a heck of a time figuring it out!

Hello,
I have been looking for some way to figure out where, when and what era my marbles are from. I have a Shooter, Like the one in the video, Bennington is what I think there called. 3:20. I have some more marbles but they have been in storage and I have not come across them yet. Any ideas, is there a book out there to find out what they are?

I have some of the civil war area you described and some Benningtons would you be interested in some pictures, and maybe a ballpark of what you might give for the ones I've got?

I am 54 yoa and have my own marbles...very common from the 1960's. But I also have my dad and uncle's marbles and would love to know if any of them are worth selling. Dad said they liked the metal ones for shooting and they were the most treasured by the boys they played with. Several are agate and some appear to be hand blown glass. Sure wish I had a way to let an expert look at them and give me an appraisal. Afraid that the appraisal would cost me more than the marbles are worth though! I just love to look at them and have often thought of how I could display them for my enjoyment.

I recently got a bunch of marbles that where stored in a 1968 play doh container with a bunch of 5 cent stamps. I'm guessing they are what you are calling "common clay" is there any value to those
