Elon Musk declared SpaceX Starship factory to build five Megarockets in 2023 SHOCKED others...

Rockets are some of the most complex creations ever achieved by humanity. Lots of math, chemistry, physics, engineering tolerances - you name it.
Yet, Elon Musk just declared SpaceX Starship factory to build up to five Megarockets in 2023 which is really SHOCKING all the others!
But can this plan come true?
Analyze everything about this in today's episode of Alpha Tech:

On January 14, Elon Musk shared the company has plans to build “about five full stacks” of Starship in 2023.
This is certainly a bold plan. Let's talk about the Starship scale:

The launch vehicle is undergoing development at the Starbase facility located in Boca Chica Beach, Texas. Starship is composed of two stages, a spacecraft that is propelled to orbit by a Super Heavy rocket powered by 33 methane-fueled Raptor V2 engines.
Impressively, when fully stacked, it is 390-feet-high which is taller than the U.S. Statue of Liberty. Starship is destined to become the world’s most powerful fully-reusable rocket.

According to Musk, SpaceX aims to build “about five full stacks” this year, translating to five flightworthy Starships and five Super Heavy boosters.

In 2022, SpaceX finished Booster 7 and built Booster 8, Booster 9, and most of the Booster 10. Booster 8 was almost immediately relegated to the retirement yard. Booster 9, featuring some significant design changes, completed a limited amount of proof testing and returned to the factory in early January – likely for Raptor engine installation. The fate of Booster 10 is unclear, but it stands as a prime example of how fast SpaceX can actually build massive Starship hardware when conditions are right. SpaceX began stacking B10 in late October 2022 and the vehicle is just two stacks away from full height three months later.

Elon's announcements shock everyone, including SpaceX.

Five full ships are not incredible for SpaceX, BUT considering the possibilities of having star ships lost in explosions or disappear in space, it's possible SpaceX will need them for testing them.

Imagine if the USA had reduced the 800+ military bases around the world to 400, the Americans would have built a moon base by now.

More important in Space flights to get things right. Been many losses. Glad to hear news of "Blue Origin". Thought they died

I don't think this announcement shocked anybody. First, there it that thing called "Elon time". But also remember that the serial numbers of Starship prototypes currently under construction near 30 (plus almost ten Superheavies.) OK, the first ones were between mockups and test articles, but several recent ones are pretty close to being real prototypes. In other words, SpaceX has already demonstrated the capability needed for such output.

Elon seems to be quite confident about the ability of Superheavy+Starship to clear the tower - since this is the biggest threat to the whole programme. Losing a launch tower would be catastrophic for the whole schedule of Starship, including lunar one - thus no wonder why they are hesitating so much before executing full Booster static fire.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but still I have many doubts about how this will end. But I'm not a rocket scientist, and I'm sure SpaceX has the best ones that will not push the risk beyond the limits!

The "Michoud" in "MIchoud Assembly Facility" is pronounced much like a pirate might refer to his footwear: "ME shoe". It is not "Mich OWD".

We need a lot of spaceships but required thinking for backup plans in case something goes wrong. The person with good plan and funding is progress but there will be people will hinder ship builds. But people with different mind set on company build is not easy. One is research and cost to test them.

Finally. Reusable, large, space worthy vehicles.

And keep in mind this isn't even counting the sheer number of Falcon 9 and a few 9 Heavy that SpaceX will likely build this year.

Oh, you know we’re going to see some serious RUD’s just remember Elon said anything that clears the tower is a success, 🚀🔥🥁🥁🥁🤞

I had a brain fart during the beginning of this video. What if the plan first Starship is to launch from Boca Chica Texas and land at Cape Canaveral? There would be no drone ship needed and no return to launch site which requires you to go back the same direction you came. Which is kind of a waste of energy. But if you could just keep going the same direction you were already going and land at Cape Canaveral it would save a lot of energy.

Very good; new information, video! Wonder how many factories are involved in making A fully stacked. I believe the downtube comes from a different place. Who makes; the combustion chambers, and the turbo pumps, and the wiring, and the small piping? The base of the launch pad is also still an interesting mystery. All that said it seems like; *5 fully stacked should be nothing.* - - - In number of parts this thing is about as complicated as a 1968 Oldsmobile 98 with a V8 -4Barrel Carb., AC; and complicated drum brakes, with alloyed asbestos brake shoes. Those rolled out probably quicker than 10 a day. Add FL and 1/mo = no problem.

only 5? i thought they were gonna pump out one every 2-4 weeks?
probably raptor production is the rate limiter. they could produce much more of the whole ships without raptors.

Blue origin is good at one thing, and that is building buildings, such as the blue origin buildings, and the Amazon facilities, other than that they’re not a car company they’re not a rocket company and we shouldn’t be putting any of our energy into thoughts above normal for blue origin… It’s a nice try for them, but they’re out of the game, so is SLS, so why are we even wasting time talking about these companies that can’t even meet the horizon…

I’m not being partial I’m just being real hundreds of billions of dollars are being spent when Elon musk is showing you how it can be done. Everybody should be on board because so far that’s what works for the money. Imagine NASA‘s budget with Elon‘s talent. 🤯🤔

SLS was obsolete before its first launch. It should be scrubbed.
