After years of relentless work, day and night, SpaceX has finally proven that they can achieve whatever they set their sights on, and this was made clear when they successfully caught the Starship booster during Flight 5. Although SpaceX and Musk had openly stated that they would attempt this catch, many experts doubted it was possible at this stage of Starship’s development. They believed Musk's declaration was more about grabbing public attention than reality. But SpaceX shocked everyone by pulling off what seemed impossible, catching the booster with precision.
While other companies might take time to celebrate after such a monumental achievement, SpaceX doesn't rest. Even after pulling off this historic feat, they've already revealed something even bigger on the horizon. But before we dive deeper into what’s next, make sure to subscribe to our channel for future updates on Starship and SpaceX’s other groundbreaking achievements.
On October 13, 2024, SpaceX launched Starship Flight 5 from its Starbase facility in Boca Chica, Texas, marking one of the most significant milestones in the Starship program's development. The launch was powered by the Super Heavy booster with its 33 Raptor engines, propelling the vehicle skyward in a successful liftoff. For the first time in spaceflight history, SpaceX achieved a remarkable midair catch of the Super Heavy booster. This catch was carried out by the massive mechanical arms attached to the launch tower, known as Mechazilla. After separation, the booster executed a controlled descent and hovered above the landing pad, where the arms precisely captured it.
Meanwhile, Ship 30, the Starship upper stage, was launched on a suborbital trajectory and successfully splashed down in the Indian Ocean after its flight. Despite some minor damage to the control flaps during re-entry, the upper stage performed as expected, landing close to a pre-designated point in the ocean. Although Ship 30 wasn’t intended for recovery, its performance provided SpaceX with critical data for refining future missions.
This achievement in booster recovery is monumental for SpaceX’s long-term goal of creating a fully reusable space transportation system. Reusability, particularly of both the booster and upper stage, is essential for making space travel more affordable and frequent, paving the way for human missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

If NASA got rid of 95% of its bureaucracy and focused more on those who ACTUALLY do the work, they just might get somewhere.

Thinking outside the box. Lunar mission Put a dragon with an extra thick heat shield nose cone on an unshielded starship. Mod the starship with a hatch to the fuel tanks to make it a habitation unit when empty. On return leave starship in orbit as a start off unit for a space station.

Musk's BF Booster performed Miracles ! How it survived : the Engine Bay glowing Pink from reentry and baking the Motors ... Covers falling off ... and Fires breaking out ! .... It landed more Accurately than any other flying object ever built ! ... The Raptor Engines performed flawlessly without a sputter ...All oriented in the right direction, right speed and Height ! ... It was an Engineering Miracle and Marvel by all those involved ! ... A BF CONGRATULATIONS to Boca Chica and the SpaceX Team !! 😀

At this point I feel confident that many of the “immigrants “ will be employed at Boeing as engineers flee the sinking ship.

An amazing accomplishment!
Do they think they will ever reach a point where people are willing to be on board when that happens?

Boeing should be fired as a contractor for NASA.

Just imagine if the US government provided the same level of backing and support to SpaceX as they provide to NASA we would be on Mars within five years

In the Military, this is what we call "FUBAR." in regards to Boeing. Thankfully X is ramping up a Dragoon to get them back. Starliner should just be for re-supply. I hope B.O. can do something to help. X cant always be there when someone jacks up." Like I said before the flight, "this is not going to work out." NASA just needs to stick to X for HSF.

So you’re stuck in space, better not criticize your host or getting home may be a problem.

Okay so we’re in the phase of the program where we’ve done all the experiments. The next unit is space sex.
