You know that feeling you get when you've been playing guitar for 25 years and you see someone do something that you've done a million times? Only they do it better, faster, and in the simplest most efficient way possible and it makes you feel like a 1st year guitarist? I got that feeling right now.

Ok... this... is the absolute best floyd rose tutorial I have ever seen on the internet. The backplate thing is amazing (even if it doesn't work on some of the Ibanez bridges, as I sadly learned today).
The "2 machine heads" distance to cut the string also works like a charm.
Very well explained, give that man a raise !

Just gonna leave it in the corner for just a little longer.

I've been a musician for over 11 years, changed maybe thousands of strings in my life. And I NEVER thought to put just the end of the string and winding it. I always cutted what I needed and put the string all the way through the tuning peg and then wound. I always ended up cutting a bit more and I probably didnt need to. You learn something new every day my friends!

Honestly, just wait untill a day you have freetime. Usually saturdays.

Put on some sweet music that you love, grab a beer or six and change those strings. Maybe clean the neck and body since the strings are gone anyways and have yourself a chill "you-time".
We all need it from time to time, and for me personally, this is the time i really feel free and like myself.

Enjoy the string shifts! Enjoy life <3

Very solid and simple to follow.

Tip: When winding the strings, make sure to use pressure on the part of the string you're holding, so it doesn't come loose, or wind in a weird way.

Awesome to the point tutorial. Only two things i might add is when you put on new strings you dont have to clip the ball end, just feed the strings through the tuning key bolts and leave the ball ends on wrapped around the key bolts. 2nd when you tune a floyd rose to save some headache retuning twice or even three time just tune from outside in IE 6-1-5-2-4-3 or reverse. This way you only need to fine tune a second time and each adjustment you make balances the bridge along the way. Rose bridges are definitely worth it once you get used to them. Ill admit i havent changed my strings in over a year 😮 hence why i had to refresh myself a bit. Hope this helps and great video again nice work

The best guide I found. First time round, the whole process takes a long time. It took me just over an hour. But it's a unique system that does a unique things, so....one thing I noticed is that the bridge does gradually become straight (flush with the body) after repeated tunings and playing with the bar, so don't rush to adjust the springs if the bridge looks tilted at first-it does come back to balance naturally, at least mine did.

Great tutorial! I've been playing for 30 years and never knew the "2 machine heads" measuring trick for string windings...thank you so much for this tip!

After playing fixed bridge guitar for 14 years I finally got my first floyd rose guitar! An old 1980's Wahsburn KC 70V. This video was exactly what I needed, thank you so much!!!

I find it helps after the first tuning to let the guitar sit overnight before locking it at the nut. The strings have time to stretch out and way less micro tuning after locking. (After owning many Floyd Rose setups over the years this seems to be the least painful lol).

Cool! Takes the fear out of a Floyd, have been avoiding one because I have heard horror stories about string changes. Those out takes ...😂🤣

Just got back into playing after hanging up my fender 15 years ago and have only been playing acoustic. Just got a Jackson Floyd Rose and needed some help! Thanks! Didn't even realize those dials on the body were for fine tuning. Cool.
