Love the more rare pitches. Screwball, knuckleball, forkball, Eephus, palmball. Even guys who throw submarine that can make the ball break in whole other directions, including up randomly.

Makes the game more fun when you see something different.

I thought Devin Williams had a screwball in his repertoire? Or maybe it’s just screw action on his changeup

Tug McGraw and Mike Cuellar had pretty good screwballs too.

Grayson Rodriguez's "changeup" is a screwball. It's a pitch that's very much alive but people are afraid to call it what it is because of the injury connotations.

Masa Yamamoto, an NPB pitcher who pitched for the Chunichi Dragons was taught the Screwball by Fernando Valenzuela himself in the minors when the Dragons used to have a minor league affiliation with the dodgers way back in the 70s-80s and he pitched till 2012 so it might still not be dead if he teaches some young pitchers when he's back in coaching at least in Japan.

John Franco had a decent screwball. So did Tug McGraw.

Best screwball of all time was Carl Hubbell. He struck out murders row in the all star game. His arm was disformed and permanently turned inwards because of the pitch.

Frankly, the modern version of the circle change seems to sometimes have the same movement as a screwball, albeit at a slower speed. All depends on the ways its thrown. Juan Marichal had a nasty screwball among the myriad of pitches he threw.

Devin Williams change is arguably a screwball

I threw a screwball in high school. I was a lefty and it made me valuable. I injured my elbow 3 times and ended up not playing my senior year. It's not a healthy pitch, and I hit lefties a lot. Haha

To me I think the rarest pitch left is the palm ball genuinely never see any thrown now a days

Tug McGraw for the late 60 and early 70’s Mets threw an incredible screwball. He even started a national comics strip called Scroogie to celebrate it!

I haven't watched baseball in years, but I do know that some pitchers have a natural screwball type movement. Especially on changeups and some on fastballs

there was a left hand cuban pitcher called Osvaldo Fernández who never made it the majors and he had an incredible screwball.

The Screwgie will always be my favourite pitch

Guy saved the bullpen for game 5. Dude has hurt his arm four times and came back. He was a top 15 prospect in all of baseball in 2016. He also had the best perm in baseball

Vin Scully used to affectionately call Fernando’s screwball “the screwgee”

Carl Hubbell probably had the best screwball in baseball history. Christy Mathewson was supposed to have a really good one as well.

One reason the screwball is disappearing is that the circle change has a similar movement, and it's easier on the arm (and easier to learn).

Imagine if the dodgers get Matt Waldron too
Two rarest pitchers on one team
