Megalodon is long gone, and if you're scared of the ocean due to a phantom menace, fear not. Today on GojiCenter well discuss a few bits of evidence that will prove that Megalodon as we know it, is no more. Enjoy! And subscribe.

Some of those Megalodon "documentaries" are as ridiculous and farfetched as the cheesy Megalodon movies on the Syfy channel. Especially the "Monster Shark Lives" one.

Goji Center is out here doing the work that the education system failed to do.

I can think of two more reasons why Megalodon is definitely extinct:

1. Blue Whales: There are two types of whales: Toothed and Baleen. Examples of toothed whales are Sperm Whales, Orcas, Dolphins, Porpoises, etc., while baleen whales include Humpback Whales, Right Whales, Gray Whales, Blue Whales, etc.. The majority of the largest whales alive today are baleen whales. In fact, the largest animal to ever live, the Blue Whale, is a baleen whale. In fact, the Blue Whale being the largest baleen whale and the largest animal to ever live, is also proof that the Megalodon is extinct. Back when Megalodon was around, there were no giant baleen whales. On average, baleen whales back in Megalodon's day would have been around 15 feet (4.6 meters) in length, with the biggest ones being about 43 feet (13 meters) in length, much shorter than the Blue Whale's average of 80 feet (24 meters) with plenty of individuals growing well over 100 feet (30.5 meters). The largest whale to exist during Megalodon's time was Livyatan melvillei, a macroraptorial sperm whale estimated to grow around 55-60 feet (17-18 meters), around the same length as Megalodon. The reason Liyatan was able to grow so big was that, just like Megalodon, it specialized in hunting whales. Once both of these apex predators went extinct, baleen whales began growing in size. The modern Blue Whale first appeared around 1.5-1.25 million years ago, about 500, 000-750, 000 years after Megalodon went extinct.

2. Central America: This may seem pretty strange, but Central America played a major part in Megalodon's extinction. During most of the Miocene, the landbridge that connected North and South America didn't exist. Around three million years ago, this landbridge connected the two continents. While this allowed many species to travel to and from the two continents, it caused a major domino effect in the ocean. The landbridge cut off flow between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, which caused a drop in microspecies like krill and plankton, causing many whale species to go extinct, leading to Megalodon populations to drop. The final nail in the coffin came from smaller predators like Great White Sharks. Megalodon would need a lot of calories to survive, but near its extinction, the most abundant prey they could have hunted were even smaller marine mammals, which Great White Sharks were much better at hunting. Eventually, the whale populations returned, but by then, it was too late for Megalodon.

Yeah, Megalodon is absolutely extinct. Thank you, Goji Center, for putting out this video. I wouldn't be surprised if there are large animals out in the oceans that haven't been discovered yet, but none would be Megalodon or something as big as Megalodon.

To quote Casual Geographic: "Why do y'all want this to be alive so bad?"

Reason No.9: Even if a "Megalodon" did still exist, it would've evolved into something completely different and wouldn't even be a megalodon anymore

This is overall a good video, and you covered a variety of points very well. However, I don't know why you showed my video in the section 'not convinced it's fossilized' and again in the section where you stated 'abundant clickbait videos saying the Megalodon could still be living in the Mariana Trench'. I've literally said the exact opposite in my Megalodon videos.

The entire point of the video was disputing all the reasons that people claimed the Megalodon was alive. I'm pretty sure I have covered all the points in this video and have consistently stated the Megalodon is extinct and have two videos (including the one shown here) debunking all the arguments I could find about living Megalodon.

Again, I like all the arguments you made in the video, and they are very similar to the ones I made myself, but it's a little annoying to see my video lumped in with others when I've spent the last few years on YouTube repeatedly giving reasons as to why the Meg is extinct.

The biggest reason Meg is dead is simply the ocean today cannot support that caliber of predator anywhere outside the poles.

Poles, it couldn't survive due to the cold water. Because it lacked both blubber and cold water adaptation.

There is No Tooth Fairy..

*And there is no Megalodon alive today!*

Update: thanks goji center for the like, a reply back confirming these video ideas would be astonishing awesome

Hey, Goji Center, first off I've been a big fan of the channel for years and I don't know if you'll see this comment, but I have a few video ideas for you guys in order starting from one I would definitely love to see first

1. Shin godzilla versus MonsterVerse Mechagodzilla

2. What if Godzilla minus one was the same size and height as legendary godzilla at 394 feet, with all of their attributes and abilities and both were placed in the battle arena?

3. Pacific rim jaegers versus monsterverse titans part 3 with the mutos, behemoth, and shimo

4. What if legendary godzilla was in the Pacific Rim universe?

5. Legendary Godzilla vs Megakaiju

6. Evolved Pink Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla

7. Evolved Pink Godzilla vs
Ghidorah

James Cameron is one of the few people to visit the bottom of the Marianas Trench. He described it as pretty boring. Just silt, a few shrimp, and 1 small flat fish.

Like you said, with the fishing and tourism industries, the true horror of Megalodon’s still existing wouldn’t be them swimming about, but instead Human greed

One of the vids featured at 8:50 is actually disproving the existence of still living Megalodon, not perpetuating that it still exists

I didn't see anyone mention this in the comments of the poll so I might as well copy and paste my comment, but IF we take the scenario where it evolved (I don't believe it did), the Megalodon should still be alive, right?
Short answer: No

Longer answer: If a species evolves into another and the former species dies out, the former species becomes extinct, even though it has descendants. Take the ancient Australopithecus (I used Homo Erectus at first, but let's just say old monke), for example. After many, many years, they evolved into humans(according to Google, at least). When the last Australopithecus died, the Australopithecus species became extinct. We evolved from them, sure, but we aren't the same species. The same should apply to Otodus Megalodon if it ever had descendants.

The Wild World video is the original Megalodon debunk. Doesn't deserve to be in a list of videos claiming it's still alive.

I got be honest with you, Goji Center. Your channel is the best. You are really doing a great job creating great documentary analysis on Titans, Jurassic World dinosaurs, and other prehistoric life forms.
