I thought singling out Carter was BS. The whole teams struggling especially the defense. Should he be better sure but he’s got a major disadvantage in front of him. I think once he settles a little gets a decent defensive group in front of him he will be fine.

I think this Covid season is especially hard for him. He is very technical goalie and I assume there are less training sessions this season. So if there are glaring mistakes in his game at the moment there isn't enough time to work them out with goalie coach. Put that together with losses and bad play in front of him (Elliott hasn't been good either). So there's probably negative cycle that isn't so easy to fix this season. I think he'll work this out

The defense has been so soft there’s no toughness to their game at all! Not just chart79!

Caoches need to know when to build up a player's confidence, which I think is what Hart needed. He seems to be a very quiet, modest kid who probably had his confidence shaken by the poor play in front of him. So AV should have been way more sensitve to this.

This broadcast needs more entertaining people on it. Weeks is the only person worth keeping

It’s just mental stuff, gotta be hard to handle being a starting goalie and he’s just a kid, give him some time maybe a break so he can shake this off and move on

Flyers could have Patrick Roy in his prime between the pipes and they would still get blown out because the defense is non-existent.

Its almost like av needs a hall of fame goalie to be a decent coach

AV publicly calling him out and questioning his work ethic makes this situation even stranger.

I don't know how anyone can watch those Ranger vs Flyers games and conclude the Flyers defense isn't a bunch of puck watchers in the wrong position. The goalies aren't performing great, but wow do they have abysmal defense in front them. It's absolutely horrible.

Hart and Elliot could be better, but, with this D, not only the names that Weeks mentioned, but, nether Tony O Esposito (who had Magnuson and White in front of him) or Ken Dryden (who has Savard and Robinson in front of him) would look good, or, anything other than like Crap with this Flyer D. AV needs DeAngelo and Staal if Fletcher can get them on the Team. Look how Hayes is doing for AV. Voracek and others can't seem to perform for AV, but, given their huge Contracts, AV will play them, as he did with the NYR Vets when he'd been their Coach (2015 Season - he let Lundqvist go back to #1 even though Cam Talbot was Red Hot), merely to appease Sather. He'll do the same/step into Quicksand again unless and until Fletcher dumps the Millionaires who are not producing, but, start with the D, which has been a bunch of spectators letting in the Opposition. An Example is the 2 vs. Buffalo. Therefore, unless you start with the D immediately, and, stop it in Making The Ghost Scapegoat, the Flyers will tank and the 2 Goalies will Go Down With The Ship, even though they're better than they are playing now.

Philly is the second worst place to play goalie. First is Toronto.

I am commenting at the start of 2021-2022 season. There's some sloppy characteristics he's displaying. Like positioning against post... there's been goals where scorers are bouncing weird angle shots and getting goals or chances 🤔. He doesn't look confident and is reading the play slow. I love Carter Hart and he can be lights out. As a Vancouver fan, it would be my dream to see Hart flounder in Philly and a shrewd GM facilities a trade to get him... ie. A draft pick and Depietro.... give him a hometown welcome and a world class goalie coach... Hart would have a goalie in Demko to work with and push him... I know he's the man in Philly, but if he struggles, things won't be pretty....
Personally I think it's a mental health thing... He stated the last year was a real struggle for him, Covid protocols, lack of getting together with team functions due to protocols. Fighting his game... lots of little things...
A change of scenery and a world class goalie coach would turn him around...
This rant is of perception and pipe dreams...

The boys in front are playing terrible but a lot of the goals he deserves just as much blame as anyone else.

The goalies always the hero or the loser

Think the coach lost this team honestly.. not working hard in practice or personally.. not buying that system anymore perhaps
