Sometimes, people think that they are ugly because of a specific feature when that feature can be the one that just perfects their face

Thanks for consistently using "we"... as in WE HUMANS. I'm so SICK of media and beauty standards.

I have a really unique nose shape. I am Nordic, and I have never seen online/in media, met, or encountered anyone IRL with my nose. I have the same nose as my Norwegian ancestors. The nostrils are a shape I’ve never seen either. My nose is extremely unique.

It’s like a combination of a Roman nose and Aurora’s (the musician!) nose. It’s super weird and I LOVE it. It connects me to my people, my mom is a Sami Norwegian descendant. Colorless skin, large canine teeth, and a striking long narrow nose. Is my nose considered ugly? Absolutely. Do I care? No!! It connects me to my people. It’s a feature of my face that is special.

We are all in such a hurry to erase character in the face, to erase individuality. It’s like Uglies.

My large canines are considered “ugly” as well, and I refuse to have them filed down. They are beautiful unique trait.

3:41 "Why does everybody want to have a plastic doll's nose? We're not dolls. We're people." Love that part 💯

Girlies... take it from a 61 year-old girlie... eat clean, maintain a strength training and mobility/flexibility regimen, use sunscreen, and you'll be fine. Embrace your uniqueness! Self confidence doesn't come from trying to look like a celebrity. Just be the best version of yourself!
P.S. About 20 years ago, a plastic surgeon acquaintance told me that the constant pounding of long distance running causes skin sagging, so now I do steady state cardio that doesn't involve all that high impact. Older runners DO have saggier faces, actually. If you enjoy running and competing in races, go for it! I've been there, done that.🏃‍♀️

I’m Black, and I remember going in for my first sinus surgery, all I knew was they were going in through my nose. Before the anesthesia kicked in I remember telling the room that I want the same nose I went in with to be the nose I come out with.

I've been told my nose is ugly a few times now. I LOVE my nose. I genuinely think it's beautiful. I have a decent bump on it and it's so elegant. And it's mine. ❤

A nose job ruined Jennifer Grey's career. Her real nose made her interesting and unique in Hollywood. She was encouraged to get a nose job but after the surgery, she was just another actress.

at school everyone used to say 'why does your nose look like that' 'you look like a pig'. im so happy i was raised to love myself and not make fun of others, telling yourself your face is ugly is just as bad as bullying other people for it. love your face because its with you for life <3 in Lael's words 'think about how many people it took to make you'

13:15 I saw a plastic surgeon for a consultation when I was 20. I chose not to move forward with the nose job because I couldn’t shake the feeling of what if I hate it and I can’t get my old nose back. I’m almost 35 and I’m glad I never got the nose job.

100% agree with the blond girl around 25-26mins who talked about being bored of Instagram face and loving seeing ppl’s unique natural features.

Many get a nose job while they actually have a weak chin, and then they are not satisfied, because they don't get that snatched look they wanted, because they needed braces instead of a nose job.

Saw a post that said something along the lines of your face is the result of hundreds of years of people who loved each other. Whenever I think about it, it always makes me appreciate my features so much more

NO BECAUSE YOU'RE SOOO RIGHT ABOUT MEN WITH BIG NOSES it just works I love them sm 😭 I'm borderline obsessed with how unique noses are because I'm an artist and every time I see a cool looking nose I'm like "dawg that'd be such a neat character design." I always compliment people on their noses and I wish we could all understand that our nose is literally made for us, not for anyone else. And that's the beauty of it!

Wise old lady over here to offer some advice!!! I'm Native American from a New York/Ohio tribe and have the nose to prove it. Got made fun of through high school, wanted to get a nose job for most of my life, but my parents would never allow it. I'm 36 now and I PROMISE you will grow into your nose. Just give it time. I even have a congenital growth hormone defficiency that has caused my nose to grow a bit crooked, some breathing problems, but nothing a nose strip and Flonase can't fix. Please just give yourself time to grow into yourself, it will be worth it! You do not want to erase your ancestory to fit into some weird beauty standard you never had a say in anyway. 💚

My grandmother did several rhinoplasty surgeries. She was finally left with a nose without any cartilage and had trouble breathing for the rest of her life. I never wanted to get any plastic surgery after that

getting back in touch with my ethnic background helped me love my bigger, wider nose. i am the grandchild of two karelian refugees, born and raised in the karelian isthmus that finland lost to to the soviet union in the continuation war in 1944. my grandparents had to leave their home, flee the land of their own and migrate to mainland finland to take shelter from the war. karelians have a lot of mongolian heritage, and for this reason our facial features, especially our noses, differ a lot from those of other finnish ethnicities. my nose is round and wide because i'm a karelian-finn. that fact along with rediscovering my roots in karelian culture has made me love and accept my nose as what it is; a signifier of survival and strength, and a mark of beautiful heritage i never want to lose the sight of.

I was teased over my nose & I wanted to "fix" it. My mom said your nose changes as you get older & I'm glad I listened. I love my nose & I believe it's the best part of my features.

I honestly loved my nose more when I had my son & I saw my features on him. Whenever people tell him how handsome he is & he lights up, I'm so happy. It's healing my inner child.
