Nation with billions to spend on arms, but no billions for back up craft to bring its astronauts home.

When the general public refuse to fly on Boeing planes then the company is finished.

I'm from the northwest and Boeing used to be something to be proud of, now just hearing their name makes me angry🤬

Wouldn't be surprised if boeing left them to die in space given their track record

Cabin fever but this time its space fever. I hope theyre trained for this exact scenario though. Time flies but it feels like a long time to be stuck up there.

As of August 2024, there are ongoing concerns in the aviation industry regarding the safety of Boeing airplanes. Key areas of focus include:

1. 737 MAX: Following two fatal crashes, Boeing made significant changes to the 737 MAX's software and training protocols. The aircraft has since been recertified and returned to service, but scrutiny remains high.

2. 787 Dreamliner: Issues related to the Dreamliner's production have raised concerns about the quality of components and manufacturing processes. Boeing has addressed these through inspections and improvements.

3. 777X: The new 777X has faced delays and scrutiny over its development and certification processes, with ongoing evaluations to ensure it meets safety standards.

Additionally, recent concerns have emerged at NASA regarding spacecraft safety:

1. Helium leaks

2. Engine malfunctions

3. The spacecraft has been deemed unsafe, and astronauts on a recent 7-day mission are currently stranded on the International Space Station until February 2025!

Given these issues, some might prefer alternatives such as Airbus or SpaceX for their travel needs.

This isn't a major problem - Boeing just needs to figure out which bolts around the capsule hatch to leave out to save cost.😂

This is crazy! With all the technology, they should be able to bring them back sooner. You mean these poor people have to spend Christmas up there? Something does not seem right here..

What happens if they get sick and there's no doctor in space? Isn't this dangerous for them to be there so long?

It's incredibly sad it takes a situation like this for space technology companies learn. Hope what's happened here can be applied to future missions. Definitely as company Boeing hasn't handled this well at all. Hopefully everyone will return safely.

Imagine flying someone into then leaving them there in exchange for a lot of money. Zero shame whatsoever. Flying boing is the same as diving with oceangate.
