Claudia Sheinbaum elected Mexico's first female president

Claudia Sheinbaum is projected to win the poll by a landslide.
She's a former climate scientist and mayor of Mexico City.
She's set to succeed her political mentor, the outgoing President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
Supporters of the president-elect gathered in their numbers in the capital to celebrate Sheinbaum's landslide victory.
The official quick count from the INE has projected Claudia Sheinbaum as the winner of Sunday’s presidential election with between 58.3 and 60.7 percent of the vote. It put her nearest rival, Xochitl Galvez, who leads a coalition of largely conservative parties, on 26.6-28.8 percent.
The official result will be announced on June 8.
Speaking to supporters, Sheinbaum said both of her competitors Galvez and Maynez had called her and acknowledged her victory.

The images of the background are very dissapointing; shows Mexico as a desert with only poor people (is like a US news report) Mexico is the 12th economy in the world (over Sweden, Spain, Australia etc.) and getting better. It is like in a NYSE interview you guys have cowboys and a old west picture as a background. Just by the way, there are 1.7 million emigrants from the USA legaly stablished in Mexico, more than any other country in the world. Very dissapointing from a worldwide mean of communication.

I am a Canadian that has loved Mexican people and culture dearly and had lost faith that "El Lindo Pais" would ever again win the war against oppression, corruption, crime and global climate pressures. A lot of Mexicans are Jewish by race but catholic by religion. My moms family are all Jewish French descendants in Mexico, they aren’t Zionist just because they are Jewish.
