Notes:
- Cyberpunk: Edgerunners really took me by surprise, I really didn't expect it to be this good! Gosh, every time I hear the "I Really Want to Stay at Your House" OST I get hit with feels...
- A lot of honorable mentions this time around simply because I had almost forgotten about the Spring leftovers and I didn't want to neglect the original ranking I had planned. On a related note, I'm not caught up on DanMachi & Love Live but I have heard good things about their current seasons so I've placed them in here.

Here's my ranking of the Summer 2022 anime season. I'm aware that the finale of these anime could change the ranking but it shouldn't be by too much - although, if that does happen, I will make a revised final version when all the anime here have finished airing. Cyberpunk End Runners and Lycoris Recoil are such a worthy opponents for that top spot, but this new season of MiA just hits different.

Made in abyss is just unmatched, its not just anime of the season, its not even just anime of the year, it one of the best animes ever made 🤩🔥

Personally, Im surprised Shadows House only got in as HM. It was my favorite anime of the season, and the only one I actually looked foward to watch a new episode. Also best ending of the season, never skipped since episode 1

Have not seen maid abyss yet even though I loved season 1 but for me summer time rendering was my favourite of the season

Am Just happy that summer time render made it into the list best anime of the year so far in my opinion

My favourite was Parallel World Pharmacy. It's not on this list but I highly recommend it. I also enjoyed Call of the Night and other anime, but anime that include healing are always subjectively my favourite.

Cyberpunk must have been the most surprising anime that came out of nowhere in a long time. Dont remember the last time an anime blew up like this

My list would be more: 1) Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. 2) Made in Abyss 3) Yofukashi no Uta 4) Shadows House 5) Overlord 6) Kingdom 7) Summertime Renderer

Tough decision between Cyberpunk and Made in Abyss as they're both really good. On the one hand, Cyberpunk would have been better served with more episodes and can feel a bit rushed at times but it still edges out Made in Abyss for me. It doesn't have a season and a movie to build itself off and still has a shorter runtime than Made in Abyss, but still built itself an amazing world, had great characters, amazing action scenes... It was great. It made me as emotional as Made in Abyss, which is amazing when you consider that Made In Abyss is basically a show that depicts children facing the most horrible encounters possible.

Call of the Night and Shadows House are just really good series that tell original stories well. Good characters and unique. Love both.

Overlord had a pretty mundane season all things considered. Not much happened the exposition within the series would have been better served with more time spent on it to explain it properly. It rushed passed the story stuff so we couldn't enjoy it fully, and it had no great action scenes or payoffs to really make it all worth it. Still, Overlord is just great for what it is. And even a weaker season of the series is still highly entertaining.

Kingdom is Kingdom. Honestly can understand anyone putting it in 3-6th place.

Summertime Renderer is weird. It is highly random in its quality. It's honestly kind of amazing how I watch an episode, think it's amazing. Watch another, and I think it's terrible. Feels like every second episode was a roll of the dice. Displaying an equal amount of basic writing problems as amazingly written scenes and twists. Not nearly as reliable as entertainment as any of the other shows in my opinion, but it's still quite a fun watch.

Rest of the shows I don't really feely strongly about.

Anyone knows what happened to isekai ojisan? it stopped airing at ep 7, will it continue? ngl its was a banger anime, and a unique isekai anime.

I thought call of the night had 12 episodes not 11, but overall solid lineup this summer for sure 👍

It was obvious that made in abyss season 2 would be first. I think i need to try cyberpunk edgerunners. Looking at the animes that are about to release in fall making a fall top 10 would be a tough job .
