I just joined 3 different Synology NAS devices to a hosted Windows domain controller. Seems to work really well. Now I have to tackle Synology Active Backup for Office 365 and Active backup for GSuite. I'm waiting for a new NAS model that can install these packages.

If the business currently uses shares through the native setting, will joining to the Domain change anything. I'm looking to use DFS Namespace for 2 people that go to 2 sites. Each site maps drives to the local NAS. In doing so, I don't want to break the setup for the rest of the users.

The default value  of "Maximum tolerance for computer clock synchronization" is 5 min ;-)

Thank you, all is done well! But now i have two devices in network list called same, one in my domain, and one in workgroup ( how to off the device in workgroup ?

Excellent video. Do you know if you can change folder permissions using File Explorer -> Properties -> Security once you join the NAS to a domain, or do you still need to use the Synology admin portal? Thanks.

I configured same like what you did., , it just works fine, , , but after couple of days... i saw another video in that active directory configured from "Synology Directory application" so my question is which method is best, , more over i saw in "Directory application" some additional feature, like directory we can map network drive to the domain user... so please guide me which shall i go with "Synology Directory application" or i can stay with your method what you showed in this video..

(Synology own Active Directory Server package)

My computers can't see it, Another synology nas can see it just fine.
I dont gett it.
