So what NAS are you running? Were you able to get it connected with AD?

I have two Synology NAS a DSM 7.1 and 6.2.4, your directions were perfect for the v6. All the details worked for the v7 but via a wizaed type system. Either way both are working perfectly. thanks.

Hi Emilio, we have several remote locations that have very limited internet speed can this synology setup be used as a on site Domain Controller replica for the users to logon with their windows credentials?

Hi, is there a way to run synology as a BDC for Win Srv Essentials? I'm trying to find any info on that but it's hard. Have you run a simliar setup before?

It would be interesting to have a video talking about the use of Synology in conjunction with Windows Server. For example, using the NAS as a secondary AD on Windows Server, and as a file server for sharing files on the stations.

Synology(AD, DNS, Fileserver) + Windows Server

Emillio, any video to talk about migrating windows AD to DSM, then decommission the windows server? My windows server is R2012 and domain has just 3 users sharing a folder. We want to replace it with a synology NAS. That means AD, DNS, DHCP etc needs to be migrated adn we do not want to create a new domain, meaning users can log in to the same profile and remap the share. There is a "Migrate from a Windows Server Domain" in Synology Knowledge center but not much info about it.

Hello. I want domain users to automatically log in to Synology Chat. Is there such a function? Maybe it needs to be configured somewhere? This is the Synology chat of the Windows client. Not web version.
