Starfire is an excellent little tactical spaceship combat game that was eventually expanded into one of the best 4X games I've played. Note that the first campaign version (Starfire III) was written by David Weber, who later became the bestselling author of the Honor Harrington series (and others).

I love Sticky Chameleons. It's a one trick pony, but it's a fun trick. Just be able to for a little bit of full contact while playing :).

That Lord of the Rings: Adventure to Mount Doom game is one of me and my wife's personal favorites. It's not for everyone but the game behind the theme is solid enough despite being luck based. We get it to the table often.

"Starfire" is a very good and streamlined version of "Star Fleet Battles".

The only game that we own and have played in this ranking of games is Fidelitas. We gave it a "meh" rating and I don't think we played it in about 8 years - need to cull it. Our oldest son loved Robot Turtles when we played it, so I agree with you on that game.

War on Terror is a good game, it delivers its theme well. Its app was also very good because it added a mechanic where wars create terrorists naturally and I think if they had added a system for that to a third edition (where maybe some other player gave you terrorists or maybe it was from the game itself) it could have bumped it up a bit. That and a lower threshold for victory. The game works as a combination of Catan and risk.

"Charlemagne: Master of Europe" is from a great smaller publisher...Hollandspiele who puts out many solo and 2 player simple to medium depth war games. Unfortunately, games like this are often overlooked for ones with cuter artwork. The main mechanism is a cup and chit pull system. A difficult game to win, but not too heavy on the rules once you get in the game, but wouldn't be my first foray into the genre if you are interested. Definitely worth a pickup directly from them or on the used market.

Code of 9 is a weird worker placement deduction game, there are 8 scoring conditions and you are trying to figure them out while trying to get or give items. It is a fun game, it is definitely unique and it is definitely not for everyone but it is only 30 minutes so its not a long game.
