How to program new style key remote on Land Rover Discovery 4 LR4 using IID

In this video we look at if it is possible to program one of the new style remote keyfob as a spare key on the Land Rover Discovery 4 / LRD using the GAP Diagnostics IID tool.

This might be a way to get around the manufacturing issue on the original fob covers (and the genuine replacement covers) where the rubber comes away from the plastic case underneath, and nothing can glue it back on again..

I have the same old style key, and need to add one… now my question: did you just get the key fob from 2012+ d4 or is it a different one? Do you think it'd be possible to make an 'activity key' style key work on a Disco 4? The idea of having a waterproof wearable key on a Discovery would solve a few surfing issues. Or having a locking system that works with a smart watch perhaps...
