2012 and up - Program or Activate or program new BMW Proximity key

Your key has to be pre-coded.
Make sure that this key is facing with the tip of the proximity remote toward the spot on the steering column where it shows key with two arrow marks.
*Hold proxy key to the steering column between the marks.
*Press and Hold brake pedal.
*Press and Hold push start button.
**If the car started right away then we good to go just check the remote for functionality.
*** If on dash show "crossed key" - keep applying brake with your foot, holding the key against that same spot and at the same time just press and hold start button again for a second time(for 5 more seconds) - it should recognize the key this time!
And if it still didn't go thru ... repeat for another couple of times.
Usually, it will take one or two times.
Then you are done.

You, sir, my good man, is the only one who _shows_ how the programming is done in action. I was told by the dealer and then watched probably five or six other videos and still could not program my new remote, because all the other videos are all talk, zero action. I was going to go back to my dealer and ask them what's up. But I was able to program my new key fob at the first try after watching your video. A HUGE thumbs up!
An added suggestion, rename your video "activate or program new BMW key fob", and it will most definitely get more views!

Spoke to the dealers that sold us a replacement key for 20 minutes. They were useless. Couldn't get new key to work. Tried other videos and they were rubbish. This was perfect. Worked first time. Thank you.

Thank you soooo much! Just performed this procedure for my mother’s car because I sure wasn’t gonna let her use my car. It worked the first time and it all happened in less than 30 seconds. Side note: the music was very annoying and made it difficult to hear you. Perhaps try lowering the volume of the music when adding it to the video.

Greetings from Brazil. Saved my life on a 2015 Mini Cooper 1.5! The key was not working to open/close the doors. Ignition was ok, if putting the fob besides the steering column.
