"No Gods or Kings, Only Man"

Rapture is a massive underwater city forged from the personal dreams of Andrew Ryan to escape from the political, social and religious anxieties of a post-World War II world. This video is a walkthrough of the entirety of Rapture before it's downfall as shown in BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 1.

In this exploration, I did miss one shop upstairs called Le Marquis D'Epoque just to the right of the bar. It is an alcohol and smoke shop. I am terribly sorry about that mistake. If you want to see pictures of it, here is a link to it’s page on the BioShock Wiki.

Gosh, Rapture was so beautiful in its heyday. Really hope we'll be able to come back in a future game.

This was a huge present for the fans. I really love Bioshock, specially because of Rapture, and this was a long waited vision we all wanted to see.
Also, seing Rapture before the civil war on it's prime create a sadder layer if you go back for replaying the first game.

Thank you for this clip.

You gotta love the art deco aesthetic of Rapture

It's sad to think that half of the characters in this video would be dead in a matter of months and the other half completely turned in ravaging psycopath. A truly sad ending for a great vision like Rapture.

I think a cool idea would be a game leading up to the events of the New Years' Eve attacks. You could be a guy who's recently come to Rapture with the promise of a new and better life. At first, it's all grand and great. But, as the story goes you see the real colors of Rapture and the problems it has. Splicer attacks become common, the plight of the poor and how they feel forgotten, and how even the elite are so cold and cruel. Eventually, come December 31st, 1958, you decide to leave Rapture. You've made arrangements through contacts you've made in the game that also want to get out of Rapture and have a secret way to leave. Then, the attacks happen and you're caught in the middle of it all. Both Atlas and Ryan supporters don't see you as one of them, and they attack you on sight. As you make your way through the city, you see the damage and horror as the civil war destroys and brings ruin to Rapture. The goal overall is to eventually reach your contacts and get out of the city.

They could use some inspiration from the book, Bioshock: Rapture, to create some elements and use some of the inspiration for the game. It would be a pretty cool game I feel.

I love how, although this is Rapture pre everything and should be a happy moment of its history, there's still something eerie and "off".

This is so incredibly cool, thank you for making this! I love seeing Rapture in its heyday, it’s every bit as beautiful as I hoped it would’ve been. I’ve been wanting to see this since the little sister vision in Bioshock 2. The idea of a giant underwater art-deco city is just such a cool idea! It would be fascinating to see a future game set during the chaos of the civil war.

I may have a deep fear of the deep ocean but Rapture City is so peaceful and beautiful

6:57: By “Where the great would not be constrained by the small”, did Ryan actually mean “Where the crazy would not be reined in by the sane”?

Almost didn't recognise it without all the monsters and debris everywhere.

Its amazing how they made this, too bad the endings are just depressing like those sad anime endings where they make everything so beautiful and perfect. I just wish bioshock ended like the original games, but whatever.

I still don’t really get just HOW Rapture was built. Scuba and diving gear was abysmal in the 50s and it really hasn’t improved that much in 2023. So how exactly were they able to do this massive construction project under the sea where they can regularly be attacked by sharks and the like, have to build with tools that would rust very easily, and no method of communication since diver comms were not a thing yet?

I hope humans will make great cities at harsh conditions. I would love to live in a place like pre war rapture.
