Armageddon Asteroid Scenes

Most scenes involving the Asteroid in appealing fashion.

What I like about it, is the great background music and the sheer appearance of it alone, bringing to mind an Eldritch Abomination or, as stated, an unthinkable cataclysm.

No fear, just awestruck fascination with the pure horror of it.

The fact they gave the asteroid it's own music truly made it feel like the main villain of the movie with no reasoning or emotion

Making the asteroid almost formless was a nice touch. Giving it an almost lovecraftian quality. Making it a menacing character. It probably got paid more than the cast and crew. 😂🤣

This music is the Deus Irae melody! Deus Irae means “the wrath of God” or “judgement day” and is often used in movies to foreshadow death or ominous threats. That’s why the music here has such a chilling impact. It’s really interesting!!

The music and design of the asteroid always reminds you how apocalyptic it truly is. It's like something straight out of hell.

I've always considered the Asteroid to be some kind of eldritch horror. The irregular shape, the way it seems to "attack" the shuttles and dig crews, the way the one guy went crazy and started shooting up the digging equipment, and just the it seems to be trying to hit Earth.

As stupid as this movie is, it's still one of the best movies from my childhood and this scene always gave me a sense of foreboding doom with just that small bit of hope in overcoming the "Villain"/Force of Nature that's indifferent to what it crashes into and wipes out as a result.

Also the theme they gave this thing just hits hard for some reason. lol

Also something I noticed now, at certain points the music almost sounds like screams, like this thing literally came outta hell...huh, guess my old nickname for this thing, The "Devil's Turd." May have been more accurate than I thought. XD

What I love about the film is the looming terrifying presence the asteroid had as it hurtled towards Earth. The music was perfect.

Look at Rockhound's face when he sees it for example. Pure terror.

I like how it was a giant unstoppable force of nature being treated as if it was something they needed to kill.
