Catholic Bishop BLAMES Atheism For Mental Health Crisis

Catholic Bishop Robert Barron connects the current mental health and meaningless crisis that so many are suffering from to the decline of belief in God and religion. I use this take and combine it with a PROFOUND Jordan Peterson clip about Christ’s crucifixion to connect a deep Christian truth to actual reality, which provides us the way through the suffering that we experience in this life…

Once you know that God made you for a specific purpose, and that your suffering is actually a good thing, your life will completely change for the better.

God made you for a purpose. NEVER compromise on that.

To know Him, to love Him, to serve Him in this world, and be happy with Him in the next. Baltimore Catechism.

PLEASE keep doing this work - don’t stop. You are EXACTLY on target and this is EXACTLY the message that that we have turned from and we are reaping the consequences.

As a recent convert after 15+ years as a vocal atheist, Bishop Baron is correct.

Absolutely true. As a Catholic Life Coach with a master’s in Pastoral Counseling I see all our problems stemming from broken relationships. The most important is our relationship with God, then our relationship with ourselves - how do we view ourselves? We can’t love our neighbor if we don’t love ourselves. If we love God, then we will be able to love ourselves, if we love ourselves then we can love others and, by extension, all of creation. Only when we are in right relationship with our Creator can we be healthy emotionally spiritually and mentally.

As a Catholic father, husband, business owner and community leader, I absolutely confirm this. I see it in people all the time.

Yes so much truth here, also remember to forget yourself and think of others, by helping someone or doing something positive improves how you feel about life. 🙏❤️

As a practicing MD, I can clinically say that Bishop Barron is 100% correct.

I left my home country in 1993 i was 19. Stayed in Turkey for 3 years. I went through a lots of stress desperation frustration i never resorted to alcohol or durgs to ease my suffering. I resorted to Jesus and God that got me through by relying on bible. My kids 18 and 20 have nothing but mental stress in spite having everything provided for them. My because they dont the solid faith i have.

When our wise teachers tell us that you are worthless worm food, you start to internalize it. The devil loves every second of it.

I definitely feel lost and see a correlation between radicalities and mental illness.

This connection can be clearly seen, believing in nothing has a destructive power on the soul!

Yes, you don't have to be a clinical psychologist to see the connection. It's thrown in your face on a daily basis so often it's become a truism of the modern era.

I would say a lack of purpose/meaning is the cause of this crisis, every -ism including atheism and Catholicism is just acting as a placeholder in place of the actual thing

Correlation does not mean causation.
Our societies have changed a lot over the last 20 years.
We have seen a huge change in the use of information/internet in our daily live.
Social media has completely changed our social interactions.
The continuing interconnectiveness of our world radically changed a persons place within a society.

But sure its atheism thats the cause...
It makes much more sense if both are the result off.

Being an Atheist is an individual belief. Many times people change their beliefs in life.

simply stating there's a correlation isn't actually doing research on whether or not there is one, also correlation isn't causation
