This is very good. I recently attended the shower of the daughter of a friend. We spent the morning today, talking about manners. How they're almost non-existent anymore. Other than maybe neglecting to teach them ourselves or learn them ourselves, covid didn't help any. None of us have really been to any functions in a long time. So, this morning, we decided that we're going to start having parties. But to do so, there must be protocol and manners. If not, no one has a good time. As the shower demonstrated.

When I was young and in school, I remember watching an old black-and-white film that we thought was outdated, about the responsibilities of a guest at a party. At the time I thought it was silly. I don't anymore. It's time to learn and practice. We've got to get our social skills back on line. I especially love the part about the phones. Those things should be checked at the door.

I can’t m be on time to parties even if I try, so I’m glad to know I can be fashionably late. How late is fashionable late though? Say if an event is to start at 4pm and run till 7pm (as I imagine the time it runs for also informs on how long you can be late to be fashionable with it)?
