Also I wanted to pass my GPU into this VM to see if I could game on it, but ReactOS doesn't support UEFI, and it was a woefully optimistic attempt considering I couldn't even install it on bare metal.

To think that they actually wrote this from scratch is impressive.
Also, they were trying to create an alternative for XP, and server 2003, the team said it themselves. Besides, look at the themes, the one you're using resembles a combination of the Vista Aero and XP theme.

You should try nightly builds of 0.4.15 version (0.4.14 is way too old)
