Why Catholics And Orthodox Christians Will Never Unite

I pray for unity between the Holy Sees. I hate the fact that as an Orthodox Christian, I cannot have communion in a Catholic church, despite our Priests clearly stating that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Holy Catholic rite. The hypocrisy of when we end every prayer with the words, "We believe in One Universal, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic church" and yet Catholics and Orthodox can't even have communion together due to some BS squabble that happened more than 1, 000 years ago. I am appalled at the lack of effort being put in on both sides to have more peace, dialog and worship between the Eastern and Western churches.

There isn't even unity between the Eastern churches, so only God knows how we'll end up with unity between Catholic and Orthodox. All this division and in-fighting is what led to the rise of Islam and the fall of Rome/Constantinople. When will Christians worldwide rise up and say in one loud voice "NO MORE SCHISM" Schism is from the devil and it has been a blight on the church ever since it reared it's ugly head. Christians need to learn to love each other and stop hating each other because as our Lord, God and Saviour Jesus Christ said, "A house divided against itself cannot stand" - Mark 3:25

We will be One, God says so. Your Bishop issue is a huge deal for us but God has one Church and it will unite either on this Earth or the next. Patriarchs are a Biblical position, and Apostolic office and that cannot just cease to be because Rome said so.

Hey Ted the divisions between the Catholic & Orthodox go deeper than the sigh of the Cross. The church will unite when God reunites them. The Bishop of Rome needs to return to the teaching of the church fathers in regards to authority and stop teaching manmade doctrines like the immaculate conception.
