This video is not helpful for beginners at all. You assume beginners already know things like “setting up properties” whatever that may mean.

So true about sketching out a plan; otherwise, you might fry your brain with possibilities! A crazy amount of separate databases might be a bad idea, however, it's better to content things in databases (and change views accordingly), rather than lists. That way you can link them up (in relational databases) down the road as needed.

Tip 16: You can add extra features to Notion like sticky outline, set full width small text for all pages, scroll to top button, hide help button, etc by using Notion Boost chrome extension

I do like the app but it's a bit counterintuitive. There does seem to be quite a learning curve in the beginning. Also, while there are some fantastic templates, like the Cornell Notes template, it's not intuitive in terms of how to use that particular template. What I mean about that is that you'd think you'd be able to start a new note in its own note/page. I tried doing this by creating a new note but the template didn't carry over. For some reason, the app didn't appear to understand that I had already downloaded/imported the template. It appears you can simply just create a new note in the same window but not pop it out of the initial page in it's own new document/note. I think there are tons of features but the ability to get up and running the way you'd like to is difficult.

Hi. Thanks for this video. It's clear and I found nice tips inside. I've began to explore (rather than use) Notion for 2 days and I disagree a little with the order you chose. I would rather recommand to discover and explore the functions and the flaws first, than decide what to include in Notion (for what tasks/data Notion will be used), than build the site map. How to build a relevant organization and sitemap before knowing what we can do in Notion and how ?
For instance, I am reviewing my datas in Evernote, Wunderlist and ZIM to decide how I will organize them in Notion (I'm still not sure I'll use Notion instead of Evernote and ZIM, but it's on the way).

Francesco, you mention "downloading the application."

Does this mean you are using the desktop version of Notion which, on a windows computer, will only run on a current version of Windows 10.

And is this your recommendation over using the web app on a desktop or laptop?

Hi F - thanks for all your work and slick videos! A quick question - am trying to migrate my apple notes into Notion. Trouble am running into is that the pdf files I have inside my apple notes do not get copied when I do a "select all" and copy from Apple notes and paste into Notion. It seems I have to either save those pdf's on my mac or Google drive and then import them into Notion- quite a long winded process. Any pearls of wisdom to make this easier please? Thanks 👍
